Stamford Bridge stands on prime real estate.

one of our owners is a property developer.

Don't be surprised if .....

anyway , the feeling from the Americans is that the EPL is under valued,  increasing our value doesn't rely on sucess, only one club wins the title and maybe one EPL club wins the CL.

the value increases with the Super League and tv rights. That's where this is heading, and games abroad which our own League suggested a while back.

PL team does not need super league

Nominally yes, but that is before you consider that for the parasites owning the club is about making money and that you can never make enough.

One thing for certain with Roman is that it was never about money for him.

I disagree, super league will be chaotic. There will be strong fightback from from fifa, uefa, pl, public and sponsor, etc2. For Madrid, Barca n Juve it is worth it. For pl team, it is not. Maybe this will change in the future. But in the short term it is not worth it.

Oh naturally I think there will be pushback as we saw last time. But in the end money talks for those who buy clubs to make money. Note that it was City and Chelsea, both privately owned, who first pulled the pin and PSG and the big fan owned German clubs didn't join.

The parasites will always find ways to make money off their investment. They don't see it as being steward of a football club and it's history and fans but as a money making exercise.

Think people are overreacting, Reason why we didn't have as many backroom rejects under Roman is because he hired people he knew. Emenalo, Avram and Marina were all people he either knew or he had worked with before. If Boehly did the same thing people would be pulling out their pitchforks out, instead he's actually trying to hire people qualified for the vacant positions.

Our capital investment owners already lumped a £800 million debt on to the club before the season started.

There no way in the world that our investment fund owners will make money whether we are successful or not.

mind you money pours into every PL club  , perhaps it could be diverted into our Californian investors wallets ?

I imagine ticket prices and merch prices will probably go up if the new stadium happens. That's how they will make their profit

Steve Atkins is leaving, and is being replaced by another ex City person. Let's hope this one is not a sleazy pervert:

"Since I gave up hope, I feel much better"

A proverb I remember from years back, I put it up behind my boss's desk just before an inspection.

Just need this break to be over and to see how Chelsea play with potter before I start going mad not knowing what's going on, although I already feel it won't all be positive.

Anyway this article made me smile a bit...As I can't make sense of anything anymore.

That would be hilarious after he blamed us for nuking the Kounde deal.

Not to mention he has spent 30 years of his career at Sevilla, and his two years in Roma quickly saw him go back.

Personally I think if he wanted out Barca or Real would have snapped him up. However if we could get him he is a top negotiator and very well respected. So in theory would be a top appointment IF his views and ideas align with Potters and what Todd wants.

Who are these so called sources. Its all ar$e

Even the ones often respected as reliable are not that great. Take Fabrizio and how sure he was Kounde was on his way to us and Freund was our new DOF.

Exactly.

Basically he's wiping the slate clean. It's a really bold move and he better do it right, we've been a really successful club for a long time. To be brave enough to wipe all of that and start afresh, eek. It's a big risk and could backfire massively. If I became owner of a football club, I would have looked into what worked well and what hasn't, and retain key staff. For example I never would have got rid of Cech, who seemed to be the link between the owners and Tuchel, getting rid of him caused communication breakdown with Tuchel and of course he got sacked.

I actually had high hopes for Boehly at the beginning but now I'm not so sure. God knows what's going to happen to us in the next decade.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised since one of Todd's pitches on ownership of Chelsea was 'continuity' but he is wiping the slate clean. I guess maybe he doesn't think some of the current staff are good enough? We'll have to wait and see if that happens to be the case.

Just looking for the precedent where this approach has previosuly worked...errr

Even though I'm not a fan of some of Boehly's decisions, I am going to give him a chance and I do hope as fans we collectively give him one as well. It's too early in the ownership to turn against him especially when we already have the media against us. I think all owners have a level of naivety when they first buy a team. I remember Roman thought he could whisk Fergie away from United when he first came, and he tried to acquire executives from as many top teams as possible like Peter Kenyon etc. City owners also made similar mistakes and it only really came together for them in the last decade. Todd will also come to learn things in time. Joining the media bandwagon against us isn't going to do any favours.

Does not matter if we sing his praises or want his head on a spike. Roman did what Roman wanted, and Todd and the new owners will do what they want to do, regardless of what the fans feel about it.

We have no power nor say in it, otherwise Roman would still be our owner.

I can’t help having a real sense of foreboding about our medium-term future. “Sense of foreboding” is of course pretty weak. So to pin it on something a bit more concrete, in a nutshell:

My worry is we’ve been bought by a bunch of over-leveraged finance bros at the worst possible time- the peak of the cycle. Roman, once he’d accumulated (or stolen or whatever) his stack, was actually pretty prudent.

Pretty prudent you say ? An average loss of £70+ million a year for each year of his tenure ? Hmmm ... 🙂
