Is our hopes too mate, and we are enjoying the progress our young players are making.

Though we will still be pretty unhappy when your first team shows up in the cup and trounces us lol.

I think this is the thing.. one thing thats made me laugh with the OGS stuff recently, giving it the 'klopp's taken 4 years'.. from day 1 we were enjoying what we were seeing, it was mad, and to coin the phrase at the time, heavy metal football, but win lose or draw, would just be excited for the next game, and that's why I think you have a step ahead of the others, you've a legend at the helm, you can see the young lads developing, and thats not always rosy, but there's an identity forming and something to be excited about.. maybe not facing us ?, but you know what I mean.

United (and spurs a bit now) are just playing turgid hoofball with semi-decent players, and that won't win them anything in the long run, maybe I'll be wrong, Greece won the euro's I suppose, but over a year in, and there's no sight of anything exciting happening on that pitch..

Yeah the next thing we have to figure out is how to break down the low block. Many sides have used that successfully against us and has made for boring games as we have tried to play through it and just not been able to most of the time.

Once we can and force those sides to come out and play we will go back to the entertainment we had in the first few months when everyone fancied having a go at us after united beat us by 4.

Klopp had a very unusual way to him in that he always seemed upbeat regardless of the current result in the early days. Psychologically for the team that would have an effect and not sure Frank can have that same manner about him.

I'm unsure about us under Frank, I think he has done well to-date yet tactically he lacks something at times and seems a bit stubborn in not using certain players. Hopefully it all comes together in this second half of the season.

It might be interesting to discuss how we would beat this low block.

Currently we have a lot of play around the edge of the box and have shots charged down and lose possession making us vulnerable to the counter.

I think perhaps we should play for corners and use Rudiger, Tomori, Azpi and maybe Alonso to try and get us ahead so the opposition has to come out to play and so we are likely to score again in open play.

Up until Rudigers double you would have been laughed out of here in thinking we could be useful at attack set pieces.

In theory though IF we can deliver as Mount did in that game then having Rudiger, Zouma/Tomori, James, Giroud/Tammy and (if picked) Alonso, we would have some good options to attack set plays and long balls.

Giroud could score if Frank played him yet Zouma has not done well offensively for us in the air this season.

Neither had Tomori nor Rudiger until recently, but they have form from before doing so as has Zouma. Unlike Christensen, who may be the worst center back on set pieces we have ever had.

Agree on Christensen.

I put a small bet on Spurs when they drew at the Saints to win the Cup when Saints did not get a penalty, 11-1

So, pleased they won though seemed slightly fortunate.

Waste of money. Spurs win a trophy?!! Lol good one.

Speaking of the Mourinho effect, this quote is basically his mantra these days:

"I think I did very well because I had to manage a team with so many difficulties," said boss Jose Mourinho.

Apparently UEFA have "admitted" that some mistakes were made in our match against Ajax, Ajax in turn decided not to sue or demand some kind of a compensation...bs.

Can we take legal action against UEFA for what happened in 2009 against Barcelona?

Reminds me of Clough who some say should have won 3 European trophies yet due to corrupt officials went out early. One of the officials later that year was prosecuted.

The way they have set up this winter break is a bit stupid. Why not just have every team have a break at the same time?

It suggests to me one season not to play the youngsters in the early rounds of the cup to avoid the replay eating into the winter break time.

So us poor fans don’t have to go a whole weekend with no football at all. I’ve watched more rugby this weekend than anything but whatever!
