Maybe we should nickname Broja "Stella" - because he's reassuringly expensive? Remember Morata. We bought him for strawberries. We sold him for strawberries. At this moment he is at his peak ...
January 19, 20242 yr He can't be fairly judged with only a few starts back after an injury. He hasn't been good but neither has many of the others.

January 20, 20242 yr On 18/01/2024 at 11:08, RIP Mourinho said: Wouldn't touch Toney. Blocks a twat and has been at every club he's been at. The disrespect to Brentford and their fans with his most recent interview after they've stood by him through his current issues. Well if he's a twat or not, his come back game today after 8 months out, has probably added another £20 million to his price tag. He's exactly the type of forward we need. I like Osimhen but would take Toney over him all day long.
January 21, 20242 yr Media saying we want to loan him with an obligation to buy in the summer for 35mill, and a small loan fee now plus wages covered. I don't believe we want to sign first team player but in the summer. So this, plus Hall plus Maatsen and possibly Chalobah out on loans to buy would provide summer funds.

January 22, 20242 yr Sell Broja and Gallagher for 80m combined and we can afford players like Osimhen and a top Center back to take over from Silva. If the club decides to do so. I personally hope we build the side with the building blocks we have and tweak it here and there.

January 22, 20242 yr Just now, RIP Mourinho said: Did you watch the game yourself? Outside the freekick he was bang average and we'd have all complained had it been in a Chelsea shirt. Yes I watched the whole game. He had a big hand in their third goal as well.

January 23, 20242 yr Seems like he may be on his way out. Romano claiming next few days are key as we apparently already have a replacement lined up. Surely Benzema on loan if this comes to fruition?
January 23, 20242 yr Boehly seeing Poch start Broja while he's trying to negotiate a transfer fee. Lowers his value every game.
January 23, 20242 yr Will inevitably leave in the summer if not this window. High hopes following his good debut professional season with Vitesse and semi-decent follow-up with struggling Southampton but ultimately succeeding as a striker at Chelsea you have to be the best-of-the-best and unfortunately I don't think that he will ever get to that required level here. Can see him working well in a counter-attacking system at a mid-table club, if we get any offer in the region of 25-30 million then it should be considered. May come back to burn us in the future as many of our ex-players do, but worth the risk if it allows us to sign another striker this window.
January 23, 20242 yr I think every time he plays he loses value. Time to sell him at a reasonable fee has long passed. I know it’s a long way back for the kid after such a bad injury. But he looks half the player he was before he got injured and he was only ever average at best.

I know it’s a long way back for the kid after such a bad injury. But he looks half the player he was before he got injured and he was only ever average at best. It's the way I'm starting to see it now. I feel for him and I think there could be a player there, but he's had enough chances to showcase his ability and he just hasn't taken them. At this point, as a club and a business, we're at risk of significantly decreasing his value the more he plays because he's just not putting in the performances. The way I see it now, is that Broja doesn't have a future here unless he was to go on and score 10 goals from here on out, who here can see that happening really? I think it's obvious we'll be going into the market for a forward and Jackson will be the alternative. As frustrating as Jackson is the numbers don't lie, he's at least scored goals and managed to impact games something Broja has massively failed at. The sooner we sell him the better, for both parties.
January 24, 20242 yr Like him a lot from what I saw of him back at Southampton but perhaps another case of a serious injury screwing a young players career up. The club is also actively trying to get rid of him though, not being wanted at your current club can't be a great feeling for any player and probably even more so for a young one.
January 24, 20242 yr Author I think we need to play him until either Jackson is back or someone else arrives. His presence gets us the the first goal yesterday and the first was crucial if they got it it might have been a long night.
January 24, 20242 yr I think if we step away from the academy youngster hype, the previous injury (which loads of players have)I think that @Whats_The_Mata? is right. I think he is actually one of the poorest centre forwards we have had in a long while. To me, he just doesn't have it and keeping him is just preventing other youngsters coming off the production line getting the chance to prove themselves. Washington and Burstow must be frustrated tha their chance may pass them by without getting an opportunity.

Poch isn't going to risk his job to experiment with even worse players.
January 24, 20242 yr Too be fair to Broja in his debut pro season in Eredivisie he managed 11 goals in 21 starts as an 18/19 year old fresh from the Chelsea youth team. We can rank the Eredivisie somewhere on par with the Championship in terms of competitiveness, if an 18/19 year old was to have a similar season nowadays he would be linked with all the major top clubs, so he did fly under the radar a little bit at the beginning of his career. But it's safe to say he hasn't fulfilled the promise he once had.
January 24, 20242 yr I do like the look of that Dovbyk bloke from Girona. Think he'll do well in the Premier League. No doubt he'll cost a fortune.
