"I know very well his athletic condition today. Tomorrow, he will have a [surgical] intervention because he has a problem that dates from several months ago," he said.

GOAL understands that Kounde could be fit to return in around three or four weeks.

Kounde remains Chelsea's primary target and it is believed they will push to complete the deal as soon as they get feedback that the minor surgery was a success.

It will leave the Blues able to complete the deal in early July at the latest, giving him a chance to be part of the pre-season group

Hence the insistence of not paying his release clause. Either way they want around £50-55m hope we get it done soon, lots of paper work but we may have been waiting for his season to finish (club and national) and now we can really speed up the process whilst he's recovering from surgery. 

Why aren’t we in for Bisouma? Only £25m and highly rated. 

Tuchel must really rate him if he's going all out for him despite the injury. Looking forward to seeing how he performs as a Chelsea player.

I think this signing alone will give us a clear indication if we can trust Tuchel's transfer decisions.

What a typical load of old sh*t. Only we could have our primary target being somebody we have been signing for over a year and now he is crocked anyway. Oh and another goalkeeper to add to the loan army.

I see that the ambitious clubs in our league are already trading.

We f*cked up massively selling Guehi and Tomori. Our defence would have been absolutely fine if they stayed. There’s also Livramento who we could have done with too. Lamptey too.

So wasted, now we’ll need to spend over 100m to replace the outgoing players.

Feck this, Move on NO WAY should we be paying big squids for him if he has a permanent injury, It will hamper his career, weve seen it far too many times this news has put me right off 

Unless its very minor I dont like the smell of it one bit guvna, Too many variables and risks

Didn't James have hamstring trouble, but seems fine now.  Its not like we've seen the scans, so might be minor.

Strange thing with Kounde is he already feels like a Chelsea player.  I bet City swoop in and sign him.

Problem here remains the club's valuations of him. The new owners agree with the previous ones, valuing him at around 50mill euros and Sevilla wants 65mill euros.

It might not be quite as bleak as we fear ! Admittedly from Tom Barclay (The Sun) but he is usually fairly accurate.

“My understanding is they (Chelsea) have a clause, which kicks in next summer. If another club makes a bid and it gets accepted then they have the right to match that bid and have it accepted.

At the moment, Chelsea aren't allowed to buy players either, but should the ownership issue be resolved it is likely this ban will be lifted by the summer.

The Blues will need to buy numerous new defenders in the next transfer window and Guehi represents an option.

Lol...and he was supposed to be our guaranteed signing of the window. This window just keeps getting better and better. With all the available good players being signed up by our rivals, it seems we'll likely end up with a worse squad than we finished the season with.

Seems odd if that is the case. Not so much on Kounde's part but I thought Barca were broke?

They are supposed to be but have formed an amazing squad with cheaps frees and bargains, Obviously tapping up but any player worth his salt would switch there in a heatbeat it seems

If it happens sounds like Barca were willing to pay the amount they were asking for. We supposedly weren't willing to go that high.

Granted I don’t know much about him, but seemed on the small side to me and like others have said we’re losing height with players leaving.
