Anyone on here know the strengths and weaknesses of Lindoff and Bailey and who would be the best from 3 to get at them? I dont watch them either but my biggest worry is DDG keeping them in the game, their pace up top with Rashford and Sancho, CR7 being a clinical finisher and of course the refs giving them penalties.
November 25, 20214 yr They are fast on the counter - that's all I'm worried of. Neither good at pressing nor defending so if we bring our game on the pitch this should eventually be a comfy win. Who would have thought half a season ago? Their midfield is sub-par which helps us a lot and their defenders aren't up to it. I reckon Lukaku will strike 'em hard! The thing I like to think of is that in my perception Ole was quite liked by the players so they were basically losing mostly because they were clueless rather than playing against their manager - so I don't expect any 180° magic happen with their performances - especially since they've messed up their window to change the manager also properly.
November 25, 20214 yr Can see us losing this one; in fact I'm going to put a £25 kicker on them at 5-1 Bet365 just to soften the blow. We're due a loss, they're inevitably going to play as if their lives depend on them. Everyone has completely written them off and failed to understand they have world class players who can pull a rabbit out of the hat. Might be pessimistic but with all the media guff about us being the best team in the World, I think United will walk away 2-1/2-0.

We've not conceded two goals in a game so far this season so hold onto your money.
November 25, 20214 yr United seem to be the side we have struggled against the most in recent years. Seems a lot of 0-0 draws and several years since we beat them in the league. Nobody has any info on what type of defenders Lindoff and Bailey are then? Well with that being the case think both CHO and Ziyech earned a start from the Juve game however CP not so much. I will guess Havertz is the 3rd. Far as Alonso goes, United have some of the quickest attackers around and sound like they are best counter attacking, so I expect they target Alonso as Reece is in beast mode. Secondly if you play him 3 games in a week he will not be able to offer top performances in all 3, he will need a rest in either game 2 or 3. Game 2 would be my pick, so Watford, Zeta, Brentford in league cup etc. Question is who is the best back up to him? Maybe Sarr?

I just think they will do us because they have absolutely been written off as dead and buried. We've been there as a club; players completely downed tools, manager leaves, players all of a sudden find an extra gear. I will only ever bet against us on games where if we do lose, winning a little bit of money off it softens the blow. United at 5-1 is an absolute steal!!!!

You've not been very reliable with your predictions so far.
November 25, 20214 yr Greetings from the madhouse that is Old Trafford these days. I don't want to predict the score for the match but it all depends on which United turns up at the Bridge. Our midfield - if you can call it that - will likely be McTominay and Fred (unless Carrick goes off-script and plays Donny in there) and our defence will be shorn of Varane (a signing that was questionable at best, given his injury record at Real) and Maguire, but that's not really a handicap. Lindelof and maybe Bailly will be in the middle. Rashford and Ronaldo up front with Fernandes tucking in behind. Latest news is that Ralf Rangnick is our interim boss but he won't be in the dugout against Chelsea. Traditionally, we don't perform that well after a European away game so I imagine you'll pick up the points. A title challenge is out of the question now - thanks Glazers - but the FA Cup remains a possibility. The CL is beyond us. It all feels a bit 1980s.

November 25, 20214 yr Could we see the resurgence of the mighty Phil Jones? He’d have to put the filming of his next Nutflix special on hold mind.
November 25, 20214 yr So Rangnick as interim, then moving upstairs into an advisory DoF-style role in the summer (presumably being succeeded by Pochettino). That is worryingly well-thought out. I preferred the incompetent Man Utd who made idiotic decisions driven by sentiment. Watching him try to work Ronaldo the reluctant into a high-pressing structure will be fun though... There should be no way we don't beat United considering everything going on with them and how well we are playing. However they have had our number for years and we could also say there was no way Burnley should have escaped without a hiding at the Bridge too. Sometimes strange things happen in football. I expect the United that roasted Spurs turns up and Taylor helps them when needed.

If we dominate possession and not allow Ronaldo a touch on the ball then we have a shot at winning. Ronaldo is such a wild card that we can't afford to be careless

He was supposed to be the next JT once upon a time lol. Just wondering why you said maybe Bailly. Is he not very good so a midfielder or left back would be better?
November 25, 20214 yr Going to be an interesting one this, assume Carrick picks the team. Sancho looked good in the highlights so this might be even more unpredictable. We are in a good spot though not sure what happens if Chilwell is unavailable does Marcos step in?
November 25, 20214 yr Think it will be a close game given what has happened this week. Playing away , they will have no issues sitting back and wait for their time, with the threat they have upfront and De Gea in good form, definitely has a chance. Chiwell out is a huge one, both in attack and defence, pretty sure they will target that flank. Not even going to talk about the referee issue. We should win, but it wont be a 3:0
November 25, 20214 yr Play like we did against Leicester and Juve and it should be a comfortable 3 points, play like we did against Burnley and we give Utd a chance. I'd sit Silva for this one and bring back Christensen as he has a bit more pace on the turn. Hard to see how Mason gets back in the side as a starter. I'd stick RLC in the middle with Jorge for his power and ability to drive forward. Play a false nine again with speed up front against the Utd defence and run them ragged. Can't be a better time to stick the knife in Utd as it is now...4-1 ...and that one being a CR7 dive and penalty.
November 26, 20214 yr @Stretford Ender You have to be fairly confident with Taylor being the ref and him being a United fan though eh? I would be surprised if we make it out of the game without a red card and pen conceded.
