I think Bailly will partner Lindelof in the middle. Wan-Bissaka on the right and Telles on the left. I'd expect Sancho, Ronaldo, Fernandes, and Rashford to start too. Midfield could be McTom and Donny or maybe Matic. Maguire is suspended, Pogba is injured along with Varane. Shaw is doubtful and so is Fred but they'll probably run late fitness tests on them. Greenwood is fit and will be on the bench.

hope its another field day for reece..

I'm worried about who's going to partner Jorginho in the middle with Kovacic and Kante both out injured. Mateo and Ngolo are both brilliant in chasing opposition, covering lots of ground and putting in tackles. RLC isn't that type of a player, he's good at making attacking runs like Kova but nowhere near as mobile or disciplined without the ball. Same with Barkley. Saul would be a logical choice but he seems to struggle with pace and physicality of EPL. Mount may be an option but he's not as effective there as he is further forward, and is still struggling to regain his form after the dental surgery.

He doesn't deserve to start on current form but I think we need to start Mason to make up for the energy we lose without Kante and Kova.

I would probably start him false 9 for this one and he can drop back and form a midfield three when required.

Too defensive. Last time we approached a home game against a Manchester side with a defensive mindset we were shockingly poor and lost.

The team last Feb.......

Mendy, Azpilicueta , Christensen, Rudiger, Hudson-Odoi , Kante, Kovacic, Chilwell,  Ziyech , Mount, Giroud

We could have a totally different team start on Sunday.

Mendy, Trevoh , Tiago, Rudiger, Alonso, Jorginho, RLC, James,  Werner , Havertz, Pulisic

I more meant our last home game against a Manchester side was City when we went defensive with a midfield 5 and looked sh*t.

Hopefully we do have a different team than our last vs United. The only miss from that side is Chilwell.  Although I hope not as changed as you put forward.

For me now we know who is out our best bet to beat United, based on what @Stretford Ender has put forward and what we know about their weaker left side, would be:

Mendy

Trev

Silva

Rudiger

James

Jorgi

RLC

Alonso

Ziyech

Havertz

CHO

James and Ziyech the focus of outfield play and 2 very different threats for United to deal with one the right.

Focus on set pieces as well. Bailly, Ronaldo and McTomm is all they have to defend corners and free kicks. So Unless a free kick is in Alonso range we have Ziyech and James on those and corners.

With this side we have all 3 cbs plus RLC, Havertz and Alonso to aim for. That is a huge miss match and we need to exploit it. If we do then we will win.

Having said that I trust TT to pick the right players and tactics to get the job done.

We need to, cause City and Liverpool are relentless. I doubt they drop more than 6 points each in remaining league games. Both well oiled machines who scare the sh*t out of everyone else in the league bar us.

If we want to win the league the most points we can drop between now and the end of the season is 8 imo.

United have had defensive problems mainly with maguire being average on the ball and Ronaldo a complete passenger in defence. Shaw hasn’t looked all the good either and mcfred uninspiring. Fernandez has his style cramped by Ronaldo.

all that said they have the talent to play well and Ronaldo is mostly right on target unlike our forwards.

ot would be harsh on cho to pkay wing back but given the amount of attacking license our wing backs get, a pairing of him and pulli or him and Werner could work.

If you are looking at him playing wingback then his best foil is Mount or maybe Pulisic with specific instructions imo.

Why? Chilwell, like James, have been allowed to cut inside A LOT and that has granted Callum more space out wide himself. If we want him to have more or less that same space he needs to stay on the left and have a wide forward that likes to cut inside a lot. Mount for sure will do that naturally, CP likes to link up play and can be asked to cut in.

Werner naturally likes to be in behind which will affect CHO space and game imo.

I highly doubt that.

Liverpool will drop that many at The Bridge and Ethiad alone.

We will see. I expect Pool beat us and draw at city. 1 more loss and 2 draws each, so technically I guess you are right as that is 7 points dropped.

We are going to drop more points in the coming weeks and months, it's inevitable. As will City and Liverpool. It will end up a very tight title race.

Pressure game. Pool thrashed them, so did City, even Watford did.

Pool have won, Arsenal have won, City will win imo, and then we play this game where everyone and his dog expect us to win and win easily. Real banana skin coated in complacency traps.

Quite a few rumours that Saul is going to start this one.

Most of those rumours say he will be alongside Jorgi rather than RLC, a couple though have said he will replace Chilwell and that he is happy to take that role for us as it is far more offensive than when he played it at Atletico. Apparently TT is considering him ahead of Alonso as first choice for whatever reason.

Guess we see if he starts and if he does where he starts.

Tuchel has the measure of Klopp tactically and their approach of shooting on sight against us doesn't work anymore now Edou is in goal.

Festive time (likely) six pointer under the lights at The Bridge, no way we're losing.

I hope not, just want him to put in a shift and show his quality.

So excited for this one. All my Man U friends quivering in there boots. It’s a nice feeling we just need to capitalize. Based on form the lineup I’d hope for is

Pulisic

Hudson - Mount

Alonso - Jorgi - Loftus - James

Rudi - Silva - Chalobah

Mendy

As long as the team comes out focused I doubt it matters whose on the pitch though. Tuchel has everyone rolling rn. What an incredible time to be a Chels fan.

We keep up the standard of Tuesday, we will win this fairly easily. United was all over the place in their CL game, took some good saves, terrible finishes from the other team, and a free gift to win the game. It's not like Ole gone and everyone just stepped up 20%.
