I think most people in the team will know what Lukaku is like personality wise Mutiny from Lukaku. If he really is dropped, pretty sure he'll throw a tantrum in the form of other interviews or other bs. I just hope he doesn't have any sway over any of the other guys.
January 2, 20224 yr Dropping Lukaku, not even having him on the bench Feels like we've surrendered before we begin.
January 2, 20224 yr What an awful atmosphere heading into a game where we're still second in the league. Something else going on here and I fear January could be a bad month. You can tell something is going on as the player performances dropped off a cliff post Juventus. No one looks happy - not picking on individuals but you can see it on so many of their faces.
January 2, 20224 yr Realistically, there's no chance of us winning today. I just hope we don't get hammered like Man Utd and can keep the margin down to 1 or 2 goals only.
January 2, 20224 yr I feel dropping him must be a RA decision. Your new top striker when you are trying to play by FFP rules..............

January 2, 20224 yr I think this type of match suits us at this time. We are much better when we hang back and hit teams on turnover of possession. And dropping Lukaku was the right call IMO. There's no way you can play someone after those comments. And he usually fails against good opposition. If he'd played there would've been too much focus on him. Dropping him clears up a lot mental space for the coach & the players

Dropping him clears up a lot mental space for the coach & the players I understand the need to punish Lukaku and send a message out to the players. But our squad is already limited by injury, illness, and exhaustion. Who do we play up front instead? Werner is doubtful and certainly not fit. Havertz hasn't featured for many games now, and Pulisic has looked awful as a false 9. Also unless Lukaku immediately eats some humble pie and apologizes (unlikely) we will be in this situation now for a while going into a tough run of matches. I cannot help but this we have just scuttled our own ship.
January 2, 20224 yr Haha how can TT deal with this when even on here we are 50/50 on play him/drop him and keep him/sell him lol.
January 2, 20224 yr Imagine what Rom will say if we don't win. Pressure on TT is going to be massive. He may walk but why would you when you could get a massive.payoff?

He is in a very difficult situation with Lukaku. If all players were fit I think it would be a lot easier to drop him. Under the circumstances highly risky though.

January 2, 20224 yr Tuchel has made a major mistake in most clubs he has been in. It has always cost him. Nothing to do with football either. Is this the one in Chelsea. Hope he comes on top as a winner here.

If we were content with the Champions league that we won last season, then why did we go and buy Lukaku this season? I'm not celebrating it you moron. It's a fact. You'd have to be deluded to think we're going to overcome Man City with all the issues we've got at the moment. Why are you supporting Chelsea if you are backing a player over the club?

Given the degree of unprofessional attitude evident from his comments, what makes you think he would've given a 100% on the pitch.
January 2, 20224 yr A reminder of the games we have played this season without Lukaku being on the pitch at any point : The Everton and Wolves draws were played without any of Lukaku, Werner or Havertz being available, and Chilwell was also out. Some good wins in that lot of fixtures, and lots of goals scored, and not many goals conceded either, probably aided by better pressing from the front !
January 2, 20224 yr Will TT risk Werner and Havertz? We find out soon. And what does the dressing Room make of what Rom has done?
