Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea

Featured Replies

He is 26 I believe right?

He is a near finished article, and a quality player to boot.

Need more like him to improve our team.

Would be nice to say the same about Sterling as our only other senior forward.

Sterling did provide the assist for him today.

I'm hoping the two of them really gel as they play more together. Also need the other two in the front 4 to step up to the same level (Palmer plus one other probably)

There’s not many. Nkunku is one of the best players France has produced this generation.

There isnt, but we shouldve been targeting players 22-27 who have perfomed at a high level in a top league for at least 2 seasons. Even then there is a high chance of failure.

What we did instead was overpay for players with less than a year of top level football under their belt.

Chiesa, Leao, Diaby, Rice, Tonali, Szoboszlai, Dembele, Raphinha, Kounde, Asensio, Isak, Kvaratskhelia, Toney.

There are players available, players we went in for but didnt get, and players that have moved to rivals.

Coupled with the fact we let go of players that were entering their prime years, whenwe couldve got another couple of seasons.

Too much change, in too short of time.

I Know He Had 4 Shots And 3 Weren't On Target, But The Thing I Really Like Is He's Willing To Shoot, So Many Of Our Guys Are Afraid Of Having A Shot

And You Can See The Gulf In Quality With Nkunku And A Lot Of Other Guys We Got

Good little cameo today, tidy on the ball, willing to shoot, puts the right weight on a pass and can score as well.

Puts into spotlight how lacking we are with Broja and/or Jackson up front.

The worst thing we could do now is ease off on our January search for a new striker because Nkunku looks good.

We should be looking for someone to compliment his talent or he'll be off in a couple of years at this rate.

He shouldn't be playing for a mid table team, he's clearly better than that.

Basically, if we have title aspirations, we need to replace Jackson, Broja and Washington in the squad with players at Nkunku's level (or better). if we do that, I think the wingers' numbers will come up by default.

Honestly it's hard to think of a player less suitable for the EPL than Leao. And Kavratskhelia is just a poor man's Jack Grealish. Chiesa is a player I would happily have though.

Why?

His versatility, his ability to run at players, his work rate, his experience.

The downside? His injury record.

Would you expect him to have let's say, 15 goals in 30 matches? If yes does it mean Mudryk is sold?

That's the problem. Very good player, made of glass.

Playing him as st is just waste of time

Yes, he was very disappointing there today.

Playing him at #10 behind Jackson is probably going to be out best option with our current personnel.

Idk I liked Jackson as a wide attacker.

Jackson showed today what some have felt for a while. He is a winger, not a striker. Makes a problem for Mudryk but maybe the competition works out for them both.

Makes a problem for Sterling as well !

I think you might be surprised about that one !

He did pi$$ off a fair few fans, especially those that went to Wolverhampton on Christmas Eve...
