Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2022/23

City are actually killing the game, sports washing perfected, all the luck, all the fortune, everything perfect, the best players, the best manager, it’s just all too perfect and to think they got took over after us as well, after we had the head start. It’s all very depressing and very bleak, Premier League is dust for at least 5 years.

A few amusing snippets from Whoscored ... Raphinha and Dembele both got substituted ... Jules Kounde only rated a 6.2 (which was better than Christensen who scored 6.1 and was also substituted) ... and De Ligt didn't even make the Bayern Starting XI ! Our summer transfer window just got a little bit better LOL.

Interestingly, Barca's best player with 7.4 in a back 4 was Marcos Alonso !

Jamal Musiala could well be the #1 academy player we had that "got away" ,,, he's started the season very well !

He really is! He has been brilliant ever since he moved out there, and is he even 20 yet? Doubt he would have made a first team appearance here if he had stayed, he would probably be on loan at Luton.

Only ourselves to blame. They always had more money than us but our player recruitment has been so poor for the majority of the Roman era.

That for me is key to their success. IMO he has a weaker squad than last season, but he is just a step ahead of ever other manager in the league. I reckon he could give every team a 10pt lead and still end up Top 2. Scary thing is they have not yet clicked yet, when they do they will steamroll teams. In full swing his teams can win 10 straight league games, that is the big difference.

Pep is definitely the key factor but the scary thing is they are so well run, they can find an adequate replacement to still win if he leaves.

I keep seeing this but I am not sure I buy it. Has the player recruitment been poor or have all the managers just been awful in player development? For all Pep’s spending bar Haaland he hasn’t bought any “world class player”, he has developed all of them into it. Cancelo was a Juve reject, B. Silva he bought from Monaco, we had De Bruyne and he bought him after we sold him to Wolfsburg. I think it’s a mix of having the Sports Director, data analysis & having a manager who can develop those players.

Have to admire what they have done. Their recruitment is not 100% amazing bit nobodies is. We had the chance with KdB and Salah, but lacked the vision for their development.

This city look tired after cl week. Yet 2-0 up and Haaland score another goal. Without injury, he can easily get 40+ in pl.

Yep, they can be in 1st gear and it won’t matter, the win is inevitable. Haaland won’t get injured, City never have injury problems that affect them in any meaningful way.

I’d be more inclined to say ‘depressing’ than ‘admire’ but I see what you’re driving at.

We had our chance to build the same, we did not take it. City appointed better people for the task higher up than we did.

We did win 2 CL with out approach, however our return of league titles is poor for the investment made.

I would also rather City win than any of the other big clubs. Also good to know that those Glory Hunting Utd fans will be in City's shadow for a very long time.

United fans are mostly alright now, they can even laugh about themselves, that’s what nearly 10 years of nothing does to a person.

I see more City shirts than any other football shirts these days, a whole new generation of City fans and boy are they obnoxious.

They played in 1st gear yet they scored 3 goals. It was just a joke. If they were fresh they would have put 6 past wolves with ease

CL return is more like a gamble though. It is difficult to say that the two team that won cl for us were the two best team that we have ever had. That 1st cl winning team is in the conversation as one of the worse team who has ever won cl.

True. We need to build again, and can only hope the new owners build well as City have done.

Cannot say I believe in them at this point.

The EPL is officially in full Bundesliga Bayern mode with City now. They’re so far out there that nobody has can or will touch them for years.

Haaland is on 11 goals from 7 apps already. Lads gonna put up insane numbers if he's fit the whole season

Pep never bought KdB. Pellegrini was the one who brought him in.

It's definitely been bad player recruitment. The ones like Hazard, Costa and Cesc were good, we just didn't do it enough. Players were succeeding at City long before Pep. KDB would still be  Chelsea player if he got the amount of chances that the likes of Werner and Havertz got. You need at least 2 top class players in your squad to make the whole team better. We don't have that at all in our attacking line up.

And probably take the Ballon D'or. Too bad for Lewandowski, his preference for barca will likely go in vain.

We were the first with all the billionaire money. Can't really complain when others suddenly got more than us.

I'm just happy for the last 20 years, and just think how we'd have felt if he bought Spuds instead of us ! Thank God that part of North London is a dump , the story goes that Roman said it was worse than towns in Siberia !

Bates played a blinder !
