I'd argue Txiki is the reason for City's success. Pep was just the final piece to the puzzle. Since 2012, everything was prepared for his arrival.

Why were Tottenham players and Son reacting like he had just come back from some terrible injury when he scored yesterday? He went through a mild dry patch in front of goal, hardly something to get all emotional about. Weirdos.

That said, f**king annoying that they can leave out one of their best players, bring him on for half an hour and he scores a hat-trick. Coudn't see any of our lot making that sort of contribution and giving the manager a message for leaving them out.

Both Spuds and Gooners look a lot better than us right now (and that doesn't come that long after the game where we totally outplayed Spuds). It's concerning - just hope Potter can address it a bit pronto like.

well we won a couple of titles and cups before ffp was implemented.

We know we had a £1.5 billion debt parked in Fordstam when the club was sold. Not sure we were living within our means either.

Not that our record spending lately looks to be moving us forward much.

Giroud also scored 4 against Sevilla not long ago !

And Tammy scored a hat trick against Luton in the cup same year ... and another treble against Wolves the season before that.

Even Pulisic has a hat trick since that Lampard one ... in the 4-2 away win at Burnley in the 19/20 season.

And 18/19 saw another Giroud hat trick, in the Europa League against Dinamo Kiev.

17/18 there were hat tricks for Morata and Batshuayi.

So we've had a few of them 🙂

As Bale started as a LB and went on to become an amazing winger I wonder if Trent could do likewise. His offensive abilities are quite special and if you free him of his defensive duties he could be quite a player.

The media are now upset that TAA isn’t in tonight’s squad.

Southgate will probably need to win tonight to save his job.

Finishing bottom of the UEFA Nations League group is one thing but annoying the media by leaving out a Liverpool defender who can’t actually defend is probably gonna be his downfall ultimately.

I don't think it's that simple. If he was to move to the wing, it may expose other weaknesses. Playing on the wing would mean he would have to link up with the striker and midfielders a lot more, know when to run in behind the defence, dribble past the full backs. 

I just looked at his age and he's only 23! I thought he was like 27. Seems like he has been around forever.

It never works like that (Bale is the ultimate anomaly). Same was said about Dani Alves but when Pep gave him a go as a winger he was every shade of sh*t.

Most attacking fullbacks are actually failed wingers.

First it was TAA needs to play. Plays, and is sh*t. 

Then it was Grealish needs to play. Plays, and is sh*t. 

Now its Maddison and Toney need to play, to which they too will be sh*t. 

 

Think England are limited in crucial areas to play an expansive game, but the reality is Southgate is just a limited manager.
