True just. Which makes you wonder who signed him. TT? The owners?

We signed him with a buy option, so you have to assume Potter thinks he has no chance in his team otherwise surley he would play and maybe be signed.

Maybe we already have lined up a midfield player or 2 for Jaunary and so we are not using Zakaria. Maybe the Mexican bloke for cleaning solution and Caicedo from Brighton.

Edson Alvarez? As we have seen, Cleaning Solution only has players with punchable faces. I can just about deal with Ziyech, but no more! Anybody else please.

Exactly. Don't put him on the bench if you are not willing to use him. Better give that spot to Hutchinson or Casadei.

Maybe he is Bakayoko-level bad.

I'm hoping (and it is a fools hope) that Potter doesn't want to play him because he and his team have someone in mind to bring in January. 

If it is now clear now then it will be after we have played Zagreb and City. 

He is leaving in January. If he plays even one single minute for us he won't be able to play for a third club until next season. Clearly we are not willing to do that to him but we are not willing to admit that is what is happening either so he pops up on the bench in an effort to save face.

Juventus loaning him out after six months was a big enough warning sign. You have to be beyond bad for a club to want rid of you that quickly.

This isn't correct at all. This has been regurgitated on Reddit and Twitter as fact when it appears to be people conflating FIFA transfer rules with domestic cup-tie rules.

FIFA's rules are that a player cannot register for more than two clubs in the same season (three if the seasons are overlapping). Zakaria originally registered with Juve this season and is now registered to Chelsea. He cannot register for a third club this season regardless of whether he plays for us or not.

As for cup-tie rules, while most domestic cups still have these rules in place UEFA abolished this in their competitions in 2018.

If that is true then it makes 0 sense why he has yet to play when we see how completely inept RLC is. Saul would be an upgrade on Ruben.

Not sure why Potter hasn't played Zakaria yet, because he is absolutely an upgrade to loftus cheek and a proper defensive midfielder that we could use right now.

Players tend to improve by the minute on this forum, the more they don't play ;). I'm going to wait until I see him play first. Perhaps we will see him tomorrow.

I've never seen him play at all , he must have something . Hopefully Saturdays drubbing may make Potter reassess ...not holding my breath though.

I have seen him play for juventus and he did very well every time he played. However, they bought Locatelli for big money as a defensive midfielder which he is not but Allegri plays him there anyway. Plus, Rabiot refused to leave as he has big wages hence they had to trim their squad and loaned Zakaria. That doesn't mean though he is a bad player or cant do a job for us.

That sounds encouraging. I would love to see him succeed here. There is no excuse for not playing him tomorrow, unless we truly plan to send him back to Juventus in January without playing 1 minute for us

No, that Watford match gives me periodic nightmares about what Bakayoko did and did not do.  There is no way Zaharia is that bad,

For what is worth i think Zakaria will play tomorrow and i hope he takes his chance.
