Pretty sure he will end up going to Arsenal. We might get Ugarte but I doubt we will get Caicedo too.

Would be nice if he broke this little Brighton curse we have going on. Cucurella, Potter, Winstanley. Not a rip roaring success from poaching there so far.

Brighton will fleece us for insane money again, or refuse to sell unless we give them Colwill for a cut price deal. They are not a club we should be dealing with, at all. There are more players than just this guy and the Sporting guy. We have a team of scouts. Find someone else.

Chelsea are optimistic they can reach a deal for Moisés Caicedo and are thought to have discussed a move for him in talks with Brighton over Levi Colwill.

Chelsea have insisted Levi is not for sale, but Brighton want to keep him, which could help in negotiations over Caicedo.

My bet is that we will end up with Caicedo but with Colwill going on loan for another season.

If Colwill goes on loan then next summer he will have 1 year left on his contract and I doubt he extends with us.

If we aren't prepared to have him be a starter next season then we need to sell him now.

I’d assume there is no way we loan him again without him signing for at least a year longer with us.
Hope he stays, and we can buy Caicedo outright. Brighton owe us as much after last summer!

True. But wasn't Arsenal the preference then?

We don't know. All we know is that both Arsenal and ourselves made bids in January. Think this will be a drawn out battle and not sure if Arsenal's pursuit in Rice affects it.

Part of Caicedo's extension in January is that there is a clause that helps facilitate a move this summer.

Yeah that would be perfect for them. Colwill plus 60mill for Caicedo who gets affected by the Brighton curse here will Colwill turns in yo the player we mostly all expect he will be and moves to City in 2 years for 80mill.

If Colwill goes on loan for another season, then he will never play for this club. If his interview and reactions on social media are anything to go by, he seems pretty reluctant to return as it is. Using him as a bargaining tool won't go down well.

My guess is that Brighton won’t sell without Colwill involved somehow.

Then they will sell him to City next season for 90 mill.

No way Caicedo is worth 60 mill + Colwill. That would be the icing on the cake of the Boehly sh*tshow.

With Liverpool activating MacAllister's release clause, I wonder if one was included in Caicedo's contract extension?

MacAllister having a 40-50m release clause seems to have shocked even the Brighton fans.

The clause/price is 100mill.

Apparently Birghton do intend to hold us to that unless we sell them Colwill, either as a swap plus cash or separate deal.

However Brighton are said to have a Gentleman's agreement with Caicedo to sell him for less to a CL club, such as his rumoured preferd club Arsenal. That's the latest whispers.

For us is either:

Pay 100mill no Colwill

Included Colwill, price lowered.

Move on from Caicedo, you know be smart about things rather than wasting time like with Ugarte when we could have tried for Mac Allister for less.

Issue is that there seems to be a genuine consensus at the club that Caicedo is the one to get. It was always Caicedo + Ugarte/Lavia, despite reports suggesting Ugarte was the #1 target. It's going to be something mad and in the region of 80-100m.

Shields seems to be the only one pushing for Lavia so I wouldn't be surprised if another CM is being linked and the club goes a different route that isn't Lavia.

And what will they do if and when Caicedo turns us down I wonder.

If there hasn't been a slant put on the press reports, and of course that wouldn't happen, apparently Colwill's not too enamoured about coming back to us anyway. Hopefully that's not the case but i can easily see Colwill being part of a deal for Caceido, especially if we can't get Koulibaly off the books.

Which of course they will, when we decline on Colwill. We will then include Colwill, but it will be too late by then. That and the klarna terms we are going to offer as contract terms.
