January 31, 20233 yr This can't be true - Todd wouldn't even need the jet to get to Brighton. Can send his driver.

Got that one too, plus the worst one was the fake concern when inside you could tell they where loving every minute of our apparent demise.
May 15, 20233 yr Author Apparently we are back in for him and Brighton want Carney included in the deal. Imagine Brighton form one of the best midfield pairings of Gilmour and Carney...
May 15, 20233 yr He was brilliant on Sunday. IMO, their best player. Bare in mind he was playing a hybrid role between RB and CM, he was excellent all game. Only 21. Has everything in his game.

Caicedo is an excellent player but it seems his best form under De Zerbi is coming in this position, which is basically the same as right of a back three in our system (ie Reece James' position). I increasingly get more Kante vibes from him and I'm not sure he would work as a purely holding midfield, but he is quite a talent.
May 23, 20233 yr With how many times Romano has said the club's name in relation to Caicedo makes me think we are working up a deal. He's got very close sources from both Chelsea and Brighton.

He's been a lot better as DMC and no one, including RDZ and all Brighton fans, wants him in the RB role where he's been forced to play recently due to injuries to Lamptey and Veltman (who is now back). He's a brilliant player, one of the best DMCs in the world. He'll go to a very good club - someone like Declan Rice (overrated and would cost bizarre money) is probably more likely for Chelsea. May 30, 20233 yr 3 clubs in for him according to Romano. We are one of them. Caicedo and Chelsea have been mentioned in the same sentence for weeks now by Romano. If we do want him I just hope Colwill isn't being considered.
June 1, 20233 yr I anticipate us attacking this like we did with Enzo. In the next days I think Chelsea will try and ATTACK this situation (Mosies Caicedo) - FabrizioRomano

June 2, 20233 yr The Arsenal lot are so convinced they are getting him. Would absolutely love it if we spoiled it for them.

June 2, 20233 yr If a choice between us and them it's pretty easy. We are a shambles and they or on the up.
June 2, 20233 yr A midfield 3 of Enzo, Ugarte and Caicedo doesnt seem like it'll work. I dont think there is a need for both Ugarte AND Caicedo, only 1 of them will be needed + aa 3rd midfielder with a different profile, ideally more creative

June 2, 20233 yr Fabrizio Ramano saying Chelsea want ugarte AND caceido, and a 3rd mid is wanted rumoured to be attacking midfield We are losing Kovacic and Kante and maybe even Mount
June 3, 20233 yr I think we only need one of ugarte and caicedo. We have Carney, Casedi and Santos. Carney is ready, in my opinion, to play most of the season and I can't see Casedi being happy as a junior burger this coming season. One or the other. Ugarte will be cheaper but Caicedo has the chops in the PL. Saw him play for Equador v Australia earlier this year in the international break and he is a monster. I forgot about Gallagher Start the season with say Carney Caicedo enzo or Enzo Caicedo Gallager and then fit Casedi in as the season progresses. Young fit, not shackled by the old team people, making a new name for themselves.
