That and the klarna terms we are going to offer as contract terms. Lol we do that then Colwill will demand to leave and we end up with no Caicedo, no Colwill, and a pi$$ed off new manager.

June 6, 20233 yr Given how well him and Fernandez play together for Argentina I'm surprised we were not interested in MacAllister, and doubly so if he's only £40-50m as well ...

June 6, 20233 yr This guy looks a natural successor for Granit Xhaka at Arsenal. There is only one thing to make Caciedo turn down the chance of a move to a CL side one or two pieces away from completing the jigsaw, to come to a lower half side, with a shambles of a board, horrendous image and a group of disaffected, unfit and disgruntled playing squad. If we now follow the route of attempting long term contracts, already at the displeasure of the governing bodies, and amortizing salary packages down to a level befitting a club in our position, then I cannot see any chance of us getting Caceido, Osimhen or any other of the top end targets that we seem to think we are on level ground for competing for. We need to focus on shifting out what we can, recruiting second and third line players that Pochettino can develop, and frankly making the best out of what we already have. Of course Caceido is the missing piece. He is for a number of clubs. Truth is, just in this country, Arsenal and Liverpool are both better options so without a stonking deal for him and his agent why will he want to come here. Let the pantomime in failure begin for the next month.
June 6, 20233 yr Bissouma is a good shout as reference but Caicedo looks the real deal. Doesn't seem to rely on a system.

June 6, 20233 yr Moises Caicedo [21]. For a fee of £70m plus at least £10m in add ons. I mean that is a high price. The lad is very good. But that is a high price.

June 6, 20233 yr TERADEPORTES reporting the club are making their proposal to Caicedo today. Player wants Champions League football so Arsenal favorites.

So its a bit pointless then. Hopefully we have a second team talking to the target we are likely to get, whilst the press are having their fun at our expense with this pantomime.

He's 21 and has his entire career to play Champions League football. Given his age he'd have grown up during our dominance over Arsenal and they have proved this season they still have that bit of bottle job in them. I don't know. Like you I hope we have a back up plan but I think our chances are good.
June 6, 20233 yr Author I mean Mudryk wanted Arsenal more and still ended up here so anything is possible.

Moises Caicedo [21] for £80m – a good young prospect, indeed a talented player, but probably worth half of that. Very reminiscent of spending £60m+ on a Brighton LB who was most likely worth £30m. Ampaddu [22] is up for sale. Chalobah [23] has Inter interested. Chukwuemeka [19], Casadei [20] and Santos [19] are great young prospects but might not be ready yet. Santos cannot get a work permit yet. Chukwuemeka may go out on loan. Casadei is coming back this summer for Pochettino to have a proper look at him, but then he may also go out on loan. RLC is off to AC Milan Kovacic is off to Citeh. Kante is looking at Saudia Arabia. Mason Mount may leave and may be the greatest traitor in modern football. Todd & Co. do like young players on very long contracts, but we need some more accomplished and experienced (seasoned?) players in the middle of the park. Caicedo has played 45 games for Brighton and £80m is a big gamble.

With CL football back for them they can easily afford it. Even at 220mill Rice and Caicedo may well prove better investments than any player we have bought since the takeover.
