June 16, 20233 yr With Kante gone/being injured for the last few seasons we’ve been needing someone like calceido, hope this goes through.

June 17, 20233 yr Caicedo is a good choice for Chelsea at some price. What that price is, is difficult for us to know. A cynic is someone who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing or so said someone or other. Caicedo will add the muscle in midfield that we absolutely do have to have. No amount of pretty boy skill or even hard running can completely obviate the need for a bit of authority. Caicedo's pressing game is excellent and will make opposition midfields go faster than they want to.

So maybe it is the Chelsea PR machine which is at fault? We have never had good PR ever since Bates. Were easy click bait target unfortunately, doesnt help that a load of our fans are desperate to believe every single negative thing written. Liverpool are media darlings, they get preferential treatment, just look how Klopps latest disgusting rant at a 4th official after charging straight at him has basically been shuffled out the news as soon as possible. Or West Ham, fan cuts a player in a final, barely even newsworthy. Been the same for years now.

A player with a few seasons of experience and he was also being a bit of a star in a World cup winning side. . .£55 million is a fair price. And Caicedo has had one decent season - 45 games total - with Brighton and he is worth £80 million. Now the reports are saying that they want £100 million. lol. Still don't see how that adds up. Yes, Moises Caicedo has potential, but so did the Cucu at one point. imho all the big clubs should walk away and leave him at Brighton for another season to gain more experience and see what his price is next summer. OR just give them Cucurella back in a straight swap. Brighton with Caicedo has a 69% win ratio, which is utterly obscene. Before he stepped in in the final quarter of the 22/23 season, Brighton had a win ratio of about 30%. I think a lot of people here really underestimate the quality of this player. Feel free to walk away. Won't be any cheaper next year. Edited June 17, 20233 yr by SwedishEntity

June 17, 20233 yr I like what I saw of Caicedo last season, but yet again it's another very young player with less than 100 appearances at senior level. You can't fill up a team with players like this, you need experience, and I am not talking about your over the hill players like Koulibaly and Aubameyang.
June 17, 20233 yr Definitely a risk at the price and agree on lack of experience. Watched some highlight reels also - he is a fantastic tackler, but quite often goes to ground from the side or even behind, hooking the ball. His timing is great, but I can’t help and watch thinking at Chelsea the ref will give more of these tackles as free kicks. I like his energy and tenacity - very Ramires like. He is also pretty strong.
June 17, 20233 yr Brighton add 20 mill to his price tag , it was inflated at 80 😅 but why not ? Bully will pay eventually, he does appear to be better qual than the gentleman sporting the Diana Ross barnet that Brighton got the same mug to pay 62 mill for a few months back Clearlake do allegedly have good contacts in Saudi to negotiate player sales to offset FFP and partly fund more lavish spending Unbiased posting by TG 😉
June 19, 20233 yr Author Brighton are insisting we sell them Levi Colwill apparently. That may be why we were quoted 120mill for Caicedo.

June 19, 20233 yr Just now, axman2526 said: Would sooner have the more combative Kone or Onana. Think Tonali and Barella are superior footballers. Onana as a DM I agree so he and one of the Italian lads would work well. I think Brighton will soon find themselves in a position with hardly any leverage. Caicedo wants to leave and they promised him in January they wouldn't make it difficult. They quoted 100m+ for him because they want Colwill, whereas we are on the verge of selling Koulibaly to guarantee Colwill minutes. We have genuine interest in other CMs such as Barella, Tonali, Lavia, Onana, etc. Brighton will soon have to lower their asking price in the fear they upset Caicedo again after going back on their word.

If they are in need of defensive reinforcements let's put Cucurella into the deal. Can play LB and CB as they well know. They clearly rate him, after all they charged us the fking earth to buy him in the first place. We could even trade it down and write it off to experience. £80m for Caceido = £40m Cucurella and £40m cash.

They get a defensive reinforcement who can play in two positions, plus a midfielder to replace one of Caicedo / Mac Allister depending on where De Zerbi wants to play him. Let's see if the Gilmour/Gallagher double pivot can play Enzo/Caicedo off the park in the Brighton system LOL
