October 19, 20223 yr The Villa first half comparisons are very lazy. Villa should have scored 3 or 4, Brentford had one big chance with Toney (that early header is saved by any half competent keeper).
October 19, 20223 yr That was typical Havertz for me…ball was there to be won…instead of standing strong, shrugging off the defender and fighting to get his foot the ball which he could have done, he decided to fall over and look for a pen.

Just lack the final ball which has been the case for some time.

Well, he certainly would have something to aim for in Broja. And he has two things we do not have from central areas at the moment. He can pass it forwards and further than 8 yards. Would have to be worth a punt wouldn't it? Either him or Pulisic.

Dave can do the odd game, but doesn't have the legs to play that position any more. Hopefully we can get another RWB in the January window. Ahem. How about ditching the idea of wing-backs altogether. With so many natural wingers/outside mids on the team, forcing someone to play wingback seems counter intuitive. Its not like the position is used much by other elite teams. Just a thought.
October 19, 20223 yr Havertz has been dreadful for sometime now, every now and then he will get a goal and we all go “hang on a minute” ….. let’s hope that is tonight

October 19, 20223 yr Ive never seen Ruben angry or ever complain…must be the nicest player to play against on the pitch.
October 19, 20223 yr I used to support Kai but he’s too laboured on the ball and doesn’t think quick enough it’s like he has lead in his shoes. He looks disinterested so many sloppy touches all over the pitch.

The problem is that we don't have good wingers, though I bet Ziyech could hit Broja in the head with a ball from a cross after 2 attempts.
October 19, 20223 yr Pulisic should be starting over Havertz. Havertz offers f**k all, sick of watching him play.

Talking of lazy, I think Havertz is the definition of a lazy footballer. We all know he CAN do it, but 90% of the time he can't be arsed and doesn't get out of second gear. Hopefully he will be hooked for Sterling or Pulicic. I was worried about our defence before the game and nothing has addressed those fears after watching that first 45. We are riding our luck - lets hope it doesn't run out.

Havertz is a similar style player to Ozil, and similar criticism was directed his way. You certainly aren't going to get all action displays from him.
October 19, 20223 yr I like Broja's energy but at the same time he's just lacked the decisiveness that we need.

He's nowhere near talented enough to justify his laziness and lack of defence awareness. When you score or assist 1 goal every 5 years you should be busting a gut and setting an example with your work ethic. Edited October 19, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice
October 19, 20223 yr Broja turned away from the goal too many times now, just shoot it doesn't matter if you miss keep shooting I say!
