Ive switched off/on prime video more times than my lounge lights.

Not an easy game by any means.  Another performance like today and we won't be walking away with 3 stolen points.  Won't be surprised to end up with a point.

Need to enter this game with far more intensity. Brentford will be well up for it that is an absolute guarantee.

Well we had two "stolen" off us against Spurs so what comes around goes around.

VAR also stole 2 points for us at home to West Ham. Gallagher stole 2 more for us at Palace. 

Not forgetting that terrible call on Tomori in midweek. More has been going for us than against us this season.

Well we need Silva against United as we really need to finally beat them for a change. Given his knock at the end and full 90 minutes against Villa sadly that means I think he needs to sit out this game.

Then there is also the question of if Dave can play well for this and United for 2 full games in 3 days.

Might be wise not to ask Ben to play 3 90 minute games in a week as well.

 

I know this before Villa, but again I would like to see Gallagher and Broja get a start. I think they both deserve it.

Like the energy most of that side would bring. Think this is a game for Broja to start and bulldozer them though.

You could also make that a back 3 without the need to change any of the starters:

Rest Ruben so he's fresh for wingback vs United, likewise Silva can't play 3 in 6, Auba on the bench partly due to his performance today but also to rest for United. Also with this lineup it allows an in game switch to a back 3 (Gallagher wingback) or 433 (Mount wide) if needbe.

Potter said after today's game Silva felt some tightness in his hamstring at the end of the game so is a doubt for Brentford.

I was surprised to even see him starting against Villa. He needs his time in the cotton wool!

No point playing silva . He needs to be protected especially in this hectic period. A 2 week injury could easily mean missing 4 games.

Gallagher at wing back? Why because he's the only one in the team that hasn't had a turn there yet? I thought it was goal keepers that everyone had to have a turn at. its either RLC or Dave. Dave might be needed at centre back so that would make it RLC at RWB. Cucu can do the LWB

Jorginho was grabbing his ankle a bit so have to nurse him a bit as well. He can rotate with Kova maybe starting this one and Kova doing the sub. 

I keep being tempted by 4 3 3 which just seems the natural shape for this crew.

This will be a really tricky game I think. Brentford outplayed us 3 times last season and we were lucky to win the games we did against them. I think this could be another gritty type performance from us, and think we will do well to win. But a draw wouldn't surprise me. 

Mendy saved us in this game last season and one of those games where I pray not, but have a bad feeling that Kepa's lack of aerial prowess will be target specifically by Brentford. Especially more now if Silva does not play, our aerial prowess is limited. Won't happen but would start Mendy for this type of fixture and have Kepa back in against United. Will not happen of course. I remember when Ten Haag started Martinez against Brentford and he got targeted so much, he got taken off at H/T. Hope I am coming back and saying that Kepa came out with a solid game again but just think this is type of game where Mendy is more suited against Brentford's direct approach and their set pieces.

This is an interesting option. Puli n sterling wide, Gallagher + ruben higher and cucu play as dm.

You can see that  Kepa still is not all that good against high balls but he's improved a bit. I can see the case for playing Mendy in this one and yet Kepa with the ball at his feet and his shot stopping still probably adds more to the team.

I like the look of Bob Stark's team but would like to see Carney get some minutes, maybe moving RLC back for Azpi in H2

 

This will be a really difficult game. Seen a few Brentford games this season and they've looked a decent side - they'll be right up for ti as well..
