Now he's worth over 100m??? To be honest he's probably not worth that but just like Jude he's the closest to that value so...

Strong relationship between clubs already. Enzo keen on move, but anything can change, e.g. if Madrid feel change in Bellingham situation. Real could ask Benfica/ Enzo to wait until summer, as they often do with transfers. Benfica want to make sure bulk of fee is a base fee & smaller portion is add ons. Issue is not necessarily about fee being paid all at once. United & Liverpool interested. United for summer.“ Sounds like if we want him, we need to get it done this window, even if we loan him back/joins us in the summer. If we want, everyone else will come. @Argoreading this and other shares like this:
December 30, 20223 yr Author Chelsea accelerated today for Enzo Fernández and offered € 127M for his pass. * ⃣ Benfica wants to keep him, but opened a minimal chance to negotiate payment methods and other aspects. * If it closes at that figure, River will receive € 31,750,000M.

I wonder if we have had a look at that Morroco break out midfield star? Edited December 30, 20223 yr by axman2526
December 30, 20223 yr Looking at all these links from different media people, and listening to a few reliable Chelsea people talking about their own research on YouTube then these are the key points I see about this potential deal: 1. Like with Nkunku we don't really want to trigger the release clause. We put down more money with him AND agreed for a summer transfer in order to secure his signing from RBL for payment terms and installments that suit us. 2. Benfica clearly are resigned to him leaving, but are strongly pushing for it to be the coming summer window at the earliest. Many suggestions that only triggering the release clause, meaning payment in one lump sum plus tax implications of that. 3. Benfica seemingly happy to negotiate a deal like RBL did with Nkunku and allow a payment plan we are happy with, as long as the player goes in the summer window. 4. No confirmation anywhere that Enzo actually wants this move. As Benfica know the summer will bring other bidders and they hold the cards here, so does Enzo himself. He could wait for Real or United or whoever if he prefers. 5. If a deal is to be done for thus window Benfica want it done very quickly, within days according to several sources. That means our people need to convince Enzo fast we are the right step for his career. Not easy with who else is said to want him. Edited December 30, 20223 yr by axman2526

December 30, 20223 yr Seems like an outrageous amount of money for a largely unproven player. I hope the club know what they’re doing and are sure he’s worth the money.

Yep I agree, the fee is enormous. I do hope he has been on somebody’s radar before the World Cup and not the latest Julio Geordio who has performed well in a tournament earning himself a big money move. There is no doubt he is a talented player though I see him more of a cog than the game changer we should be getting for the money being brandished around. Fingers crossed if we do get him he lives upto the expectations, personally I’d have liked to see him develop a further 12 months in Portugal. As a footnote I’d be looking at the guy being touted at his replacement Maximo Perone for better value.
December 30, 20223 yr More appearing now on this one, seems like it may actually happen. Not convinced personally though, a lot of money for limited game time at a top level. Edited December 30, 20223 yr by DukesOfHazard
December 30, 20223 yr I'd rather they spent the money on bellingham but appreciate he's probably got other clubs he wants to go to in mind.

He has won a domestic league already and a continental cup and also the World Cup which is the highest possible thing someone can win and he also played CL football already. He's already more proven than someone like Rice and he's also a winner so if we don't sign him someone else will.

I think Bellingham is getting overrated at this point. Don't get me wrong, signing a CM for 100m+ is mental, but he's was a key player in the Argentina WC winning team, as well as being a key player for Benfica within a year. Bellingham is good, but he'll end up going for similar price as Enzo most likely and there will be way more competition in the summer for him.
December 30, 20223 yr Chelsea are now in direct talks with Benfica for Enzo Fernández. Chelsea want to offer huge fee instead of paying release clause in one solution 🚨🔵 #CFC Benfica always asked full €120m clause. Understand Enzo already said yes to Chelsea. #LFC or #MUFC made no bid, as of now.
December 30, 20223 yr Talks started between Enzo's agent & Chelsea before Christmas. Christopher Vivell has taken the lead on negotiations, and he is in Portugal trying to finalise it. The first hurdle is done, the player has said yes to Chelsea, and the next is the fee. #CFC (@siphillipssport)

Getting the player to actually say yes before submitting a fee.
December 30, 20223 yr To much money being mentioned, has Boehly totally lost his marbles,I hope we don't get him for stupid money, plus he might struggle in the prem league.

Not only a massive fee but it seems this will have a big impact on FFP so could effect further signings in the summer. Don’t think FFP has ever penalised anyone before but if there’s ever going to be a first it’s just like Chelsea. A lot of pressure for this to be not just a good signing but needs to be outstanding. Still exciting to be apparently close to signing a future star.

Still exciting to be apparently close to signing a future star. Weren't their a whole list of clubs that were fined last summer for breaching FFP? Think PSG got like a 65K fine. Given the new policy for FFP is to have a max spending cap of 90-70% of the club's revenue within a 3 year grace period, I'm fairly certain the plan is to spend big now and rely on the young quality brought in to steer the ship the rest of the way.
December 30, 20223 yr Got to love a strong dollar in the global economy right now (particularly for this Brit living in the US also). Good purchasing power! that’s a lot of money though. We’re so scared by these not working out, so I don’t really know what to think.
December 30, 20223 yr Author Liverpool fans are utterly bitter we are close to signing him. (knock on wood) Going to be even more funnier if Bellingham chooses City/Real over them.
December 30, 20223 yr What do peeps think of him? I didn't even know he existed before the world cup. Watched a highlights video on youtube seems good. I like the ambition being shown by the owners, I however am not a big fan of spending club record fees or even over £70/80m on players in general. Psychologically for all involved it creates outside pressure with legions of rival fans looking at any small incident or mistake by the player and pouncing on it. He might be worth the money though since this is seen as a long-term investment. Judging from our new data driven approach this is clearly a deal the new board are on board with. I'm just not convinced the price is justifiable. If anyone has any in depth analysis or has watched him play and rates him I'd love to hear how he would fit in here. Even just comparing him with a known player of a similar skillset so those of us that don't know too much about him can get a better idea.
