Maybe we decided 6 hours ago they were being unreasonable but we just want to f**k with them. 

Failing the medical might be a face saver for us if we think he's not coming 😆😆😆

Benfica want 3 payments over 2 years

I guess him coming in the summer is better than nothing but it means we will be short a midfielder for the rest of the season.

Benfica appease their player by letting him have the medical, only to turn around and tell him we would not pay the release clause so he cannot go, as they said from the start, release clause or no deal.

Does anyone here seriously still think this is happening? Neither side is going to back down and show they were bluffing. On our side these are billionaires who did not make money by caving in, in Rui Costas case he staked his credibility on this.

Medicals are usually done preemptively on deadline days in case a deal go through. It actually happens a lot.

The longer this drags on the less likely.  Benfica won't cave last minute - they'd have taken the money by now if they wanted the deal.  My best guess is we change the payment terms or no deal.

We've had a plane on standby since  last night to fly him to But It's probably to fly Todd and the gang home .

Now saying we might do a deal now for him to come in the summer.. dunno what's going on

 

No way they should get full amount of its a summer deal. f**k ‘em. They will get far less in summer from someone else

Even at the detriment to us? We have no other DM besides Zakaria who is injury prone. 

If this doesn’t go through after everything that has taken place, I can’t see how it gets done in the summer; the history of transfers rarely work that way; we’ve seen it many times before, John Stones etc. So this seems last chance saloon. 

At last, a bit of excitement this season. Even if it's just a possible transfer.
