January 31, 20233 yr Absolutely pathetic, we mucked them around at the beginning of transfer window and now getting the middle finger from Rui Costa, just pay the full amount Boehly.

Nobody knows much about what's happening. Exactly this. Rui Costa does not care about the money. He made his line in the sand and is making sure it is not changed.

January 31, 20233 yr There is another meeting today. I imagine this one will probably be the last to determine if we get him or not.

Instead of improving the position that needs the most work, there is a high chance we are going to make it a lot worse. What do you mean, Scott? Jorginho's gone, that's an improvement.

That's it. Exactly, so why everyone insists on how clear Rui Costa has been? Had he been set on release clause or nothing, there would not have been any negotiating.

January 31, 20233 yr 12 minutes ago, RMH said: So why sit at a negotiating table? To appease the player? Maybe more likely the Benfica board insists the offers are at least given the impression of being entertained. Retain good club relationships and all that.
January 31, 20233 yr Even if a breakthrough happened is there even time to get the medical and all paperwork done and signed in time? I seriously doubt it now.

The plane is still in Lisbon - has not departed. Maybe club doctors are down there? The only surprise is Benfica are somewhat silent, which does make me think they want a replacement first. That, or they want to send a message for global football to Chelsea!

Pretty sure you don't need to do that on deadline day according to UEFA's rules. Most important thing is the deal agreed by the club and the player before the deadline. We've already agreed personal terms so its just the transfer fee at this point.
January 31, 20233 yr Maybe Rui Costa and Boehley can kick each other in the dick for dicking around so much this window with this transfer.
January 31, 20233 yr Author We brought in all these attackers for no one to actually give them the ball. 🤡
January 31, 20233 yr I’m a little worried about all these big money signings. They never seem to work out for us. Hopefully this transfer window is different.

Just like Roman's initial outgoings I suspect we will see a mixed bag. For every Duff and Robben lets not forget there was a Mutu and Veron 😉

No. It's evident the club want one final strong push this 2nd half of the season. With these three new attacking players, our injured players all coming back at the same time, and Enzo continuing to be pushed hard, this season being a write off imo is the least of the club's plans. Or it's probably to get most of the signings done before UEFA changes the FFP rules.

January 31, 20233 yr If we don't get him im not sure selling jorginho would be a wise idea. We'd hae very few consistently fit CMs.
