that was a goal - typical of the premier league officials a ridiculous decision

Keeper was never getting it even if there was no Dutch player in the way, the shot was hit too hard for him to react and move in time. These idiots probably slowed it down on the replays like they usually do.

Exactly in real time there was no way the keeper could adjust. It's pathetic.

And now the theme tune is in my head !

Your post has got to be one of the best ever mate !

Exposed to me the French defense they massively hold the attackers.

Disagree with the pundits, thought the penalty decision was correct as if the keeper goes to dive he risks colliding with the Dutch attacker.

The Dutch get the chance as Gakpo does not cut inside for once.

It would have been better with goals obviously though gives an sight into both teams.

The French look oddly gutted.

If this is the best he Dutch can do, will not go far if they make it through the group stage. No creativity whatsoever.

I was more surprised about the French...I thought they'd do soo much better.

So proud!

It had to be...lol

We've been posting how quick and good var has been since the start of the tourney, it had to be the English team that fks it up with the add ons too! :face_palm:

the whole ref organisation whatever they are called (under howard webb i think) need re-training. Now we've seen how fast var is they cant come up with any more excuses and rubbish.

After two games Kante was the best French player on the pitch.  Its pretty obvious that he was never finished . It was more of failure of coaching and management team.  Its their job to get maximum out of the player. Complete failure of them and overall results basically affected his game then on the pitch.

I sort of agree with you...he still has a lot in him but I think the amount of games played by Chelsea or any Premier league team (especially top 6) is a bit much for the guy. I love Kante, but after everything he's done for us, I think he deserves a rest in one of the other leagues. I wasn't expecting Saudi (other side of the spectrum, its mostly "rest and more rest" lol) but maybe its also the reason he still has it in the tank, because of all that "rest".

It was and he isn't the only one to suffer that but it's also true that it's easier to recover while playing outside of Europe.

Totally superb player. Not sure of his ancestry but reminds of those naturally gifted Kenyans that were born to run. Rarely looses the ball, pops up with goals. We were so lucky to have him

It's an embarrassing thing to say because with the players he has, and the ones he left behind, he should easily be able to make a very good midfield out of it. He shouldn't even be thinking about Phillips.

Southgate is massively on the defensive, he is clutching at straws to deflect scrutiny.

Whe have kept hearing about Bellingham is the complete midfielder can do anything then fxxking start playing him with Rice and have Gallager supporting the attackers in closing down thier defence.

Kane should be dropped, a good finisher yet not mobile enough, always wondered how Son stepped up when Harry was out at Spurs.............

On Denmark we conceded because Trippier tries a cross field ball that falls into no-man's land and they get it and work the goal.

Yet come on we should have picked apart thier defence on several occasions.

Bollocks. His hamstrings and groin couldn't manage the intensity of the PL. He missed 28 weeks of the 22/23 season. Playing in the Saudi league, relative to the PL, is akin to a season off.

I mean, he's not wrong.

People are laughing cause it's Southgate and he mentioned Phillips but his overall point is correct, we don't have a natural DM.

Granted I don't think the lack of DM is that much of an issue and can be reasonable solved with a 3atb in possession.

It's the same as the answer to all of Man Utd's woes that I come back to time and again: never having replaced Michael Carrick.

Another thought, Southgate might go for three at the back and look to use Gordon as a LWB. Trippier then moves to the RWB and all else is the same less TTA.

This way Kane gets a reprieve and it might come off.

There is history for this with Bobby Robson in 1990.

Southgate has put his finger on the problem, he thinks. He wants them to press but they're not fit enough to press apparently. Hmmm. Starting up the bus to ease the players under it.

Yep...part of me is happy he's finally going down and i hope the media target him more than the players.

i ask again....wtf is his job if players have to figure out tactics for the opponent they are playing against!?

if he stays somehow, England need a tactical coach in the same way they have a goalkeeping coach for an example. Southgate can just look pretty for the cameras and say bollocks as usual but tactical coach is in charge when it comes to the game.

*I don't charge much and probably not the best for the job, I know fk all about players outside of Chels. But at least I understand a small amount about tactics. Lol

The press was a total mess. The front want to press, the backline want to drop.

With Rice n Conor, England has two crazy good presser who can cover big ground but both looked absolutely lost what to do. They saw a free man and know that they need to press but they also saw the backline was simply too deep.

France attack isn’t good enough. PSG couldn’t score goals in big games and neither can France. They will make a chance or two but only griezman, ageing, and Mbappe have goals in them. Kante, rabiot and Tchouameni rarely score, Dembele rarely scores.
