Honestly it was such a drop off in the way we played in his first game against Wolves. Went from dominating possesion, good partnership between Kai, Felix and Enzo (no great goalscorers I'll admit). I mean they were creating chances,  on occasion actually playing some visually pleasing albeit frustrating football.  And against Wolves...nothing. Championship tactics because rn no one from EPL plays that way...

Yep - by the end Potter had us playing decent football, creating chances and moving into decent scoring positions. Despite those who refused to see it, there WERE signs of progress - albeit we couldn't score.

Lamps has us playing worse, creating less, scoring less and losing more

The mad thing is, Notts Forest, Bournemouth,  Leicester, Wolves,  Palace, West Ham, are all playing like they want to win the games. Like they want points. I think our players and manager need to understand the meaning of fightng for results and a dogfight, because that's what they've put themselves into.

That's the thing. People bang on about  De Zerbi, but Brighton under Potter this season were improving on last season. De Zerbi just had to come in, motivate a little and put out the cones in training. Ok i am exaggeraring a bit, but we were creating a bunch of chances and putting up a lot of shots towards the end of his tenure. I would have preferred to see him coach the games that Lampard lost, see if there was positive outcomes in those games.

I don't know about some of you lot but I think it's possible that Lampard and Potter are both not good enough. Lampard being sh*te doesn't mean Potter wasn't the problem.

Just look at his setup yesterday, it was embarrassing. Why are we still playing Sterling and Gallagher when we have far more talented options? Why are we setting up so defensively against Brentford? When we brought Lampard in I thought he was at the very least going to try and instill some of his attacking play that he was at least known and credited for.

The likes of Sterling and Gallagher should be on their way out, given that we have nothing to play for we should be using our new signings more and getting them more experience.

Three months without scoring at home between January and April 2022 prior to that, same manager who went three months without a win the previous season. Brighton fans were not even bothered when he left.

When Pep Guardiola is literally telling us he is copying De Zerbi’s tactics and that he’s “changing the league” and you’ve still got blokes on fan forums discrediting him, you know nothing is going to change some peoples opinions. 😅🤦‍♂️

De Zerbi came into Brighton and changed their tactics, changed their system, with De Zerbi, every single box is ticked in and out of possession. I would strongly advise you to research this yourself, rather than post stuff on public forums that make us all look bad.

People still discredit Potter for the job he did there. It's ridiculous. I'd have given De Zerbi far more credit if he had been there as long as Potter from a similar situation that Potter put them in. 4th in the league at the start of the season, beating Ten Hag.

It's funny how everyone froths at the mouth for De Zerbi, when most people had no clue who the bloke was before this season. I guess Emery must be a magician then cos he's arguably done better than De Zerbi. Even Marco Silva has done a similarly good job only a few pts off Brighton. He may be a decent coach,  but people raving like he's the second coming.

The bed is made and we just have to lay in it.

Players are gone physically and mentally, no manager changes that now. Over the summer the right one can fix things and get us moving in the right direction, but not now.

6 probable defeats, 6 games possibly without scoring. Just is what it is.

If the bottom clubs put a run together and we somehow go down with 39 point then again, it is what we made of it.

Lamps stays:

Good we don't need to damage next season by bringing Pochettino in now. Have him around the place sure, put his plans in to place. Winstanley, Stewart and co should be working overtime to get rid of players like Ziyech, Pulisic, Gallagher, Sterling etc and getting in the Striker, keeper and DM Pochettino wants for as early in the window as possible.

Everton doing their best to make sure we stay up

I wonder if any of the good players at Everton and Southampton have relegation release clauses, Like Romeo Lavia.

I actually think we need a couple of players for the here and now, good experienced professionals. Buying talent for the future is good but like tomorrow it may never come.

James Ward-Prowse would be for the here and now.

Many managers need time to get their systems working. Assuming Pochettino is the next manager then I suspect plenty on here will be wanting him out we aren't challenging for top 4 half a season or so into his tenure. I'm not saying Potter would have worked out for us. But he was never going to get the time and patience at Chelsea the way he did at Brighton. The expectation levels are totally different.

My podiatrist is also the Southampton team podiatrist, and he thinks they will sell pretty much the entire first team squad. He's already been told his services won't be required next season in the Championship 🙂

Hate how Frank is getting attacked on Social Media. Is he the best manager in the world? Probably not but the performances are not 100% because of him. He simply just took over a squad of 30+ players on poor form with half of them wanting to leave and the other half wanting the season to end. It would be very hard for any interim manager to get anything out of these players. Frank's goal for the rest of the season should be to steady the ship and hope we drop as little points as possible.

At least he can shoot

With the right manager there are players that can be useful too us from Everton, Southampton and either Forrest, Leeds or Leicester. I do really believe that, and one of our best examples was Gary Cahill from and awful Bolton side.

So you are telling me there is a chance for JWP?

Happy Lets Go GIF

Ah who am I kidding, we would rather spend far more on a waste of space like Fleix...

Nobody is expecting him to be an elite, or even a good tactician, but when every single member of this forum could most likely pick out a better line up than what he came out with yesterday, he kind of deserves it

Think a big part of it was his post game comments.

Expectation may have been for Frank to really dig out the players, rather than his own version of "the lads gave everything"

Yep this gig for Frank was purely on how far we went in the Champions League. It’s clear our players have now downed tools after that defeat and Frank can only pick from what he sees in training. On a personal note it must hurt Frank ,who was a model professional, that he can’t get this group of players to display a performance that they can be proud of themselves. At this point not naming the new manager is seriously hurting the club, remaining squads should now involve only those players who are definitely required next season.

I know he's not without his faults, but I would take Pickford over Kepa & Mendy, every day of the week.
