Vivell was also responsible for Mudryk so I don't think we should be quick to give him praise (unless Mudryk turns out good)

If we can get carney back our offense will flow better which will make everyone play better and if we can Nkunku back, he will add the extra box threat that we need.

And that was with a gigantic injury crisis. Yet some fans were still calling for him to be sacked. Not to mention the first season, where he dragged us into the top 4 from 9th, and won the Champions League outplaying the best teams in Europe. When you look at how shocking Mount and Havertz have looked so far at Arsenal and United, under good managers, Tuchel winning the Champions League with those two up front is ridiculous. I miss Tommy, and I think it's criminal that he didn't get more time with this team. We have to move on though. There's still plenty of time to improve. I'm obviously not thrilled with some of the team selections and performances but we have to give the manager and the players time.

Has he even had a single good game in his career? He's had moments but he's very much another kid who's shown nothing to suggest he's good enough in a team full of them. 1 or 2 of these kids in the squad is fine, gives people excitement and if they struggle like usual the experienced quality usually steps up but we don't have the quality he's looked as lost as all our other young players for most his time here. Still, it's one game, impossible to judge him on one game alone.

Yeah, for 20m he looks a good prospect. The kind of signing we'd make under Emenalo. It's the spending 40m+ on completely unproven players that's the problem.

I don't think so, thought he looked very poor all last season, in pre season and at the start of this one. His goal was fantastic and there were signs he's got talent but one or two moments doesn't make a player ready. You can play struggling and inconsistent young players who have one or two flashes or brilliance next to established pros that give you consistent performances because they'll pick up the slack as they develop. Throwing Carney into a team of other kids who are all struggling themselves isn't going to do him or us any good.

Carney is a kid and his game is still raw and the same as all this kids they are only good at maybe one or two things. But what he is good at is playing connector and we definitely can use one
September 17, 20232 yr I know we drew 0-0 but am sure someone will post how amazing our stats are so far this season, how we are bossing xg and are right up their with Arsenal and City because of that and that is all tht really matters, right?

It's still one of those hopes that at some point our players will all come back healthy and we will finally see how our strongest possible team looks like...
September 17, 20232 yr Honestly, looking at our fixtures up till December, Poch could genuinely be in serious trouble by the end of the year. Though we did look better against Liverpool, so maybe the better teams coming at us instead of sitting back could help us.
September 17, 20232 yr I actually feel sorry for Poch. Our policy seems to be buying young players, even Maddison was deemed too old for the board apparently, even though he’s only 26. It’s like promoting your EFL U21 cup team and expecting them to make the top 4 in the EPL. And most of our purchases aren’t even used to the English Premier League. I understand the long term thinking but short term I think it was a bit naive to go completely in this direction.

Yeah I don't really blame this on Poch, the board didn't learn their lesson from last year. But if we're mid table by January the knives will start coming out for him, rightly or wrongly. Even in this game the team got booed.

I think in hindsight Maddison looks like one we missed out on but had we signed him I think many people would be questioning that we signed another injury-prone player who hasn't looked his best for some time. But I do take your point, any manager is going to have a difficult job managing such a fresh batch of players.

Bournemouth left as much room for us today as any other team ever will. And we still couldn't do it. It isn't just Poch who will be in trouble by December. He will be and I fully believe he'll have a fall out with directors/owners soon enough and gets sacked. I also fully believe we may find ourselves in the relegation zone come December. It's a disaster all over.

Think Enzo is gone either in January or Summer probably Nkunku too despite not seeing him. The few quality players we've signed aren't going to waste their careers with all the untalented young kids we've got alongside of them. They left good clubs to come here to win silverware they'll leave us for the same reason if we're not competitive.

Coming in and getting rid of most of the people who know how Chelsea work was stupid and also getting rid of experience players the same players who loads of this community deem not good enough would do a better job now in a transition period. The saying the “grass isn’t always greener comes to mind.”
September 17, 20232 yr Had a go at his fullbacks for trying to attack at times post-game apparently. That's a bit of a shocker I got to say. Especially when Colwill who literally stays 100% of the time is one of the fullbacks.
September 17, 20232 yr Winning 1/5 is bad, in general we can always say that we have too many injuries but the fact is, we don't play that well despite paying a whole lot for this team. I don't even think having Nkunku will help, he'll come back from injury super shy and he'll blend in with the rest. It's all about T.Silva, James, Caicedo and Enzo that can make this team work. If they don't do it, wake me up next September.

The reason why our full backs attack is because the build up is so slow which creates overlap plays. If we transition quick and focus on the front 3 getting the ball moving with speed, the full backs will just be a plan B if needed. On the right flank it's just slow build up passing which ends in a nothing cross from Gusto
September 17, 20232 yr 1 hour ago, Scott Harris said: These same people that want Tuchel gone are begging for him to fail at Bayern now just so they can say "see, see, he wasn't anything special". I already noticed some of this when Bayern looked like they were going to lose the title last season. Some have had it in for him from the very moment he joined. That much is obvious. They couldn't wait to see the back of him even if it meant we were no longer challenging for anything.
September 17, 20232 yr I can kind of see where he is coming from, there were a few times in the game where I thought there were one too many players on the right side of the attack and Gusto should have probably been playing a bit deeper. However, I don't think that was our biggest problem.
