September 17, 20232 yr I'll wait and see until the likes of Nukuku are back from injury but he can't beat the likes of Bouremouth without them then that's very worrying. Worse part is, he has me actually missing Potter. I miss the control we had over games.
September 17, 20232 yr Never thought I see the day when people miss Potter considering the amount of hate he got but I'm also not surprised

It's an impossible job because there's so much media pressure and expectation from the ownership and supporters based on what we've spent. But wasting money on sh*te kids doesn't win games, in terms of actual talent in the squad we're clearly a bottom half team. I don't think you can look at our squad and think any point away from home is a bad result but obviously it won't cut it given the expectation. Yup the signings have been terrible. Murdyk, Jackson and Palmer have cost a combined £140m (before add ons), yet they have 44 professional goals between them. That's our attack. We apparently didn't sign James Maddison for 40m (an absolute steal) because he was 26. Our board are clueless With that being said, I don't think Pochettino is tactically amazing either.

We should be pinning teams like Bouremouth back, not going back and forth.
September 17, 20232 yr It is funny how people want youth but at the same time when we play tons of young player and we don't score, everyone complain

September 17, 20232 yr I don't think it is all on him because I think the owners have thrown crazy money at mediocre players, but what has Pochettino even done so far? It's like he has picked off where we left off. He's been here since June and I couldn't tell you single thing that has changed. The football is exactly the same as it was when Lampard was here, when Potter was here and even under the worst parts of Tuchel. Even if the players are sh*t, why isn't he atleast trying to change it to fit his image? Does he not have his own style of football?

September 17, 20232 yr It will get worst before it gets better so just set your expectations correctly.

In his defence, I think its difficult to mould a team as a new manager when you are getting injuries every week. Poch probably had an idea in mind as to who he wanted to build a certain style of play around but he probably has had to start from scratch each week when someone new gets sent in for treatment. I know injuries have been used as an excuse for the last three managers but I honestly think its a valid one here.
September 17, 20232 yr The bottom 4 are atrocious, but I genuinely can't see ANYTHING in our football to suggest we are better than any of the other 15 clubs in the league. It's shocking. We beat Luton and Wimbledon, and the latter was by no means straight forward.

I miss Thomas Tuchel, even in his 'bad' season he still comfortably got us top 4, a couple penalty kicks away from a domestic double, and lost to the CL winners in extra time aft a Modric wonder pass. And that was with a gigantic injury crisis. Yet some fans were still calling for him to be sacked. Not to mention the first season, where he dragged us into the top 4 from 9th, and won the Champions League outplaying the best teams in Europe. When you look at how shocking Mount and Havertz have looked so far at Arsenal and United, under good managers, Tuchel winning the Champions League with those two up front is ridiculous.

September 17, 20232 yr Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle and Brighton look levels above us right now. Unless one of those teams collapses, we're not getting top 6 this season. I'm not sure we even finish higher than Villa or United, which would mean 9th at best, and another season outside Europe.

These same people that want Tuchel gone are begging for him to fail at Bayern now just so they can say "see, see, he wasn't anything special". I already noticed some of this when Bayern looked like they were going to lose the title last season.

I'd have took 9th before the season started so I'd be happy with that. Inside I'm furious but I'm realistic about the squad we have, our competition this season was always Fulham, Brentford, Palace, West Ham not the big clubs. Very hard to see us finishing above a club like West Ham when they have so much more quality than us. Bowen, Antonio, Paqueta probably even Benrahma all walk into our attack. September 17, 20232 yr Change coach, same sh*t result. Let's just admit we are a mediocre club side at the moment. The players are either not good enough or are just young prospects, 5 years from their true potential which might never be realized. Management is just a bunch of unproven losers who've never won anything in the football world. We suck!
September 17, 20232 yr Uninspiring stuff. Not sure when this gets better. Need James, Caicedo, and Nkunku for and firing or this team is way off.

There is no chance we are finishing in the top 10 unless Nkunku comes back and wins games on his own.

Chuku and Nkunku are both vastly different kind of players than Mudryk for example, he isn't going to offer the same. Same with Gusto, even though I think he's a good back up, he isn't Reece James.

Nkunku is one of our few signings that geniunely looks good on paper, with a proven track record of goalscoring It's a shame the guy who signed him (Vivell), is no longer at the club anymore.
