Nicolas Jackson - striker

VVD s problem with Jackson is his movement and speed, Aerially it's pretty much a no contest. As to Drogba, i didn't say he would handle him, but Drogba, unless when he was really on it, when NOBODY could cope with him, Would not have it all his own way.

After he retired Carragher wrote a very long summary of his time at Liverpool. If I remember rightly it was for the Daily Mail? Anyway, he said that there were two strikers in his career who, no matter how on it Carjacker was, if they were on their game, he knew he couldn't really stop them no matter what he tried. He named them. Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba.

Not just him, is there a defender ever who could stop Drogba or Henry, at the very peak of their powers, for a whole game?

At the start of the season, everyone thought it's a bad idea to only have Jackson and Broja as strikers, now we only got Jackson🤔 Broja isn't getting games at Fulham, surely he would take one of the GK spot on the bench  and played a cameo on Sunday

If we are still being run as a top team, jackson is your backup for your top guy or part of rotation with your other ready made st.

But since we are being run as full developmental team, jackson is a nailed down starter.

😁😁😁

Credit that he scored a goal (which the keeper should have saved) and I was hoping that after the goal it would boost his confidence and we would see him kick on.

But he again showed he is not a striker. He cannot hold the ball up and constantly loses it and gets out muscled by (Championship) defenders. Frustrating at best.

Took his goal well, but was terrible from then onwards. The most stupid thing he did was with 2 minutes left of time added on he got it in the channel and tried to take on 2 defenders, dribble past them. Lost it, obviously, and leeds countered. He simply is not a striker.

Ooh that takes me back. Created maybe 18 odd years ago?

Just saw this now @Gem. Hope you are keeping well.

You were a pioneer back when the internet was a novelty. Member of JFH Fanclub and Not a Member of JFH Fanclub were early favourites.

I asked if you would make an irony emoji as I kept falling out with people. An Australian poster whose name I've forgotten asked me outside once!

Happy days!

:irony:  - This always brings me back.

Hello sweetie! Not too bad here thank you, hope things are good with you & yours.

So many good memories of this place, I know I don’t post anymore (until someone @‘s me and I get curious) but I was glued to this website for years, so good to see people like you still around holding the fort.

@dkw do you remember what phrase that a bloody annoying poster said and we just continued to take the piss after? I was thinking about that a while ago.

I remember now!! ESCAPE GOAT! 🤣

@Modueke (you need to change that to Modulish/Modulicious) ahh that’s another one pulled from the vault, BFS!

Who was it who said Escape goat? Was it someone like Portugeezer?

I don’t believe so, our guy was an idiot and portugeezer wasn’t (isn’t?) as far as I remember. Whoever it was, they were new at the time, but just one of those purely here to wind people up.

I think I’m remembering it right but please do correct me if I’m wrong, d!

Whatever happened to the favourite quotes bit on the forum, does it still exist? That was definitely in it.

Did he write a chapter about spitting on kids?
