January 14, 20251 yr It's just poor all around. We've spent close to £100m on players who within 1-2 years we are already looking to sell. All of which we won't likely break even or hardly make any book value profit for the fiscal year. Club needs to learn and be more efficient at this.

January 27, 20251 yr As much as I am not a fan of Disasi, all of the players looking to leave in January isn't a good thing. This is just contributing to the derailing of our season. When are we going to have a balanced squad again? It's been constantly changing since the new owners arrived. How are we supposed to gain an affinity with these players and how are the players going to grow any attachment to the club when they leave so soon after joining?

Now imagine is Emery manages to play to his strengths and avoid his weaknesses, and they finish ahead of us. You don't loan to rivals for Europea spots, unless: A. You have give up on being above them. Or b. You care more about the money of a loan fee and saved wages.
January 27, 20251 yr Now some of these "young" players are starting to see where this project is going we start seeing them want away. Veiga to Juve, Dasasi wants out now.

I think it illustrates how poorly the SD's have been identifying players the last couple of years. I think Disasi will do OK at Villa, if he is played as a central defender. His best performances for us have been in the middle, but he is a liability as a full back.

Villa are bringing him as a direct replacement for Mings who picked up an injury yesterday. He will definitely help them with cover and it could ultimately help them finish above us. I suppose the owners will be hoping a decent loan increases his resale value.

The next best thing to not making these errors is rectifying them relatively quickly.

Veiga wants to leave because he wants a chance at getting into the world cup team for Portugal, appparently. Disasi obviously doesn't feel wanted at the club, and why would he? He's been constantly berated by fans. God knows what abuse he must get sent from so called "fans" if the criticism he's received on social media and forums is anything to go by.

The club has realised we've signed a crap player, the manager doesn't rate him and the player doesn't want to sit on the bench (at best). The transfer window is open so why not get rid now?

January 27, 20251 yr Romano now changing it to a loan move. Loan fee + salary covered. No buy option.

The problem is it's not just him. It's Felix, it's Nkunku, it's Veiga, it's KDH, it's Sterling, it's Koulibaly, it's Chukwuemeka (shouldn't be trying to get rid of him at all) it's Petrovic, it's Badiashile. The list goes on and on. Next season it will probably be Sanchez, Enzo, Jorgensen, Mudryk and probably more. Before all of them it was almost an entire Champions League winning team. Let's not forget the coaching staff too. There is so much going out in every window. Basically, I want them to get it right the first time and give this team a chance to grow, get to know each other and actually have us look like a serious club again, but there is zero signs of that happening. The players we are linked with signing aren't going to improve things. Edited January 27, 20251 yr by Scott Harris

The players we are linked with signing aren't going to improve things. When the owners and directors show zero patience for player development, players adjusting to the Premier League, "trusting" the process, and the "project" in general, how can they expect the supporters to be any different ? They don't seem to have any faith in the vast majority of their signings and certainly giving up far too early on the likes of Chukwuemeka and Casadei, and especially so considering the long contracts they've put them on. Classic case of more haste less speed. They've been in much too much of a rush with all of this to date.
January 27, 20251 yr Was really excited for hour that I thought we were going to sell him. Dry loan seems pretty pointless, other than possibly strengthening Villa who are 3 points behind us. Just shows how poor this club is run now, so many misses in the transfer market. Palmer, Caicedo, Lavia and Gusto at a push. 4 transfers in the last 4 windows that have added something to the 1st 11, and Lavia is hardly ever fit. Then there is £40m on 2 keepers, neither good enough, KDH pointless £30m, Felix £40m, not used and wants out. Ugochukwu £20m out on loan, Disasi £35m can't even sell him, Neto £60m squad player. This is on after the initial 2 windows when we spent £250m on Fofana, Cucurella, Sterling, and Mudryk. Scary how bad the success rate has been.
January 27, 20251 yr Straight swap for Duran or no deal, let’s get these SD’s actually working for once.

I agree that Lavia is a good player but I would find it hard to argue that he's been anything other than an abject disaster as a transfer.
