I know he was bad but steady on.

He's won us a lot of points this season, a few dodgy games where he is being asked to do things he is not comfortable doing shouldn't change that.

It’s always against Arsenal though.

He's a world class keeper when he's not playing arsenal.

Very far from world class. He is a good shot stopper who makes the eye candy saves which sometimes makes people forget his weaknesses l. But his distribution is consistently awful, he is never comfortable in possession and he does little to inspire confidence at set pieces. That is nowhere near world class.

Exactly how I see him.

Even some of the "good saves" he makes he just pushes it right back into danger zone for effect.

Top goalkeepers bail you out and make saves at pivotal moments in games, he literally does the opposite in that his mistakes makes it impossible to win football matches when he has days like today.

Imagine being an experienced or even an inexperienced defender and trying to defend with confidence with him as your goalie.

If we had a a real top goalkeeper it would make a huge difference - he is just an average keeper who sometimes makes good saves (which is actually thier job).

He is so casual and unfocused, he looks and acts like someone whose been up awake gaming all night on the eve of a football match.

I'll make your joke funnier, "It is better to spend 300k a week for Sterling a certified benchwarmer than on one world class player"

Few overreactions here OVERALL he’s had a great season, since Rosenior has come in though and asked him to also be a footballer he’s gone back to being a liability.

Either accept your GK isn’t going to make defence splitting passes but will stop shots or move on from him, you can physically see his mind not being able to cope with both demands.

Its not even that though. His mistakes yesterday were being bullied at corners, that has nothing to do with playing out from the back. How can you be 6'6 and slapping at balls coming into the box like that.

My thoughts have been consistent in that we need a top quality, experienced spine starting with the keeper.

It’s been blatantly obvious to anybody who has ever played or watched the game for a number of years now.

This is the main gripe of most of the fans I speak to because the money has been there and spent/wasted time and time again in other areas in the hope of making money but in fact has cost us millions through lack of qualification for certain tournaments and sponsorships and revenues that come with yet there are some very easy fixes……one of which is a top quality keeper.

Mentally weak, No focus, mind had gone.

We’ve seen it time and time again with Bobby. Leave him to be a GK and he’s perfectly fine, a great shot stopper even. Ask him to add anything else to his game and every other aspect suffers equally.

If Rosenior is still in charge next season fully expect to see Penders thrown in the deep end.

I imagine Penders gets the nod sooner rather than later.

You really have to question how you can train as a footballer for 20 years of your life and still be unable to kick a ball straight under pressure. Ridiculous.

Are people really blaming the manager for his poor performance yesterday??

Flapping at corners despite being 6 foot 6 inches plus being allowed to use his hands is a Sanchez problem.

He looks like a 5ft 5 goalie in those situations - he looks frightened.

I watched him right before thier goal and he looked nervous, pushing his own players out of the way like he needs tons of space, which you ain't gonna get at a corner in the EPL in 2026.

He makes me nervous whenever he has the ball, if the club want to insist on a ball playing goalkeeper then we need to upgrade this summer because he isn't the one.

I'm sorry I don't rate him and don't think he's this great shot stopper that others do.

If we put him up for sale tomorrow does anyone seriously think Arsenal, City, Liverpool etc.. would be interested in buying him as thier number one keeper??

As others have pointed out, Sanchez has had a fairly decent season and I think we all thought the keeper issue had slipped down the list of priorities which needed addressing.

But then he puts out a timely f**king reminder! Yesterday, other than the horrendous dithering early in the game whenever the ball was at his feet, the thing which annoyed me most was his reaction after the winning goal. You saw his reaction and thought "Ah, hold on, he must have been fouled, hopefully the goal will be chalked off". Only to see the replay where there was no-one f**king near him. Just what exactly was he doing FFS?!!!

Don't know how Penders is doing and if he'll be ready for next season but if not, I wouldn't hesitate is signing Pickford or Henderson to replace this clown.

Been quiet - middle east is on fire, so dealing with that - but can always make time to weight in on rickety rob. He is simple not good good enough to be Chelsea keeper. We have been saying it for 2 seasons since he joined. He makes Mendy look reliable with his feet (when he was anything but). Rob is simple a good shotstopper, but rubbish at all other parts of the game. Loads of GKs like him. None are at the top

Every time we play arsenal he has a howler. He's had a decent enough season but he's shown again that in the big games he isn't dependable, he needs replacing in the summer.

He's been directly responsible for conceding 7 goals from his last 7 appearances against Arsenal.

If he's not being replaced, then he needs to be dropped against Arsenal at this rate.

Chelsea vs Arsenal 2-2 (Sanchez directly responsible for both of Arsenal's goals x2)

Chelsea vs Arsenal 1-1 (Sanchez beaten near post x1)

Arsenal vs Chelsea 1-0 (Sanchez waffling a ball that goes over his head x1)

Chelsea vs Arsenal 1-1 (not at fault).

Chelsea vs Arsenal 3-2 (Sanchez directly responsible for 2 of Arsenal's 3 goals. Both completely preventable. x2)

Arsenal vs Chelsea 1-0 (not at fault.)

Arsenal vs Chelsea 2-1 (Sanchez laughably unable to command his box for Arsenal's second x1)

Reading the posts after last nights game on here and on X, you could be forgiven in thinking we have an absolutely World Class keeper in Sanchez and LR made the biggest mistake ever made in football by playing Jorgensen.

People have such short memories. Just because Sanchez didn't play last night, that doesn't mean that he has all of a sudden become a top keeper.

A Top keeper has to be a recruitment priority before we kick a ball next season.

Do those exist? The problem here is Maresca & Rosenior maybe on instructions from the SDs want a GK who can exploit a high press. There are very goalies like that in world football, it isn’t just a case of being good with their feet. Someone in the match chat pointed out Alisson but he really isn’t even doing that a lot under Slot. If we play to their strengths, Sanchez is a decent GK. If Rosenior wants his goalie to play as a 3 CB, then Penders is his man.

Sanchez palmed away a shot straight back to a Wrexham striker leaving him with an open goal around the 90th minute which he headed wide luckily for us.

That was literally a few days ago!

Plus countless other examples.

The reality none of our keepers are good enough so I don’t even get emotional over whoever starts matches anymore.

We as a football club have seriously neglected how important that position is.

No one sane is calling Sanchez world class but if you have 2 keepers that are prone to errors when passing out from the back then surely it makes sense to pick the one that is a far better shot stopper?

I initially said Sanchez would have saved the last 2 goals, having seen the goals again he would have also saved Dembele's goal too.

Are we talking the same Sanchez who let in such a soft goal against Arsenal and then tried to claim he was fouled, despite no-one being anywhere near him?

We can go back to back like this with examples if you want but theres been far more better saves/good of Sanchez this season than bad

I think maybe you have the short memory? Wasn't that long ago he was running away with our player of the season votes

It's unfair to bring up Arsenal games. He has a disability which only presents itself against them.

Maybe he had your vote but he never had mine.

I agree, this season he has been better but he is still not a keeper you can truly rely on. Too many rushes of blood, flaps at corners and his passing out is as bad, if not worse than Jorgensen's. I don't want to see either of them in the squad when we go into next season as otherwise you just know we will be having exactly the same discussions again. WE NEED BETTER.
