Yes. And since then he's not been. And he's still only 22.

It's all a bit irrelevant, the guy I was replying to was moaning that if we sold Palmer we would only end up spending it on Brazilian teenagers.

TBH if Paez and Estevao are even half as good as they're expected to be selling Palmer in 2028 could pocket us a fortune. Quite like the business model we seem to be heading in. More Paez's and less Moreira's though pls.

Scored his first goal for England and it was probably the worst penalty I have seen him take so far.

And the most nervous he has ever looked. Understandably. Had a decent game. Has to adjust to not having the freedom to do his own thing as he does at Chelsea.

Not a great game to watch last night although Palmer still showed great touches now and again.

Great that he is involved in the Euro's, but part of me wishes he could just go and have a holiday now and relax. Been a long season for the lad and we cannot afford for him to suffer any burn out or get a niggly injury.

I would like to see him in Euro's. He is a player and players like to play. He also needs to step up to everything in his career so why not start in the biggest stage. I am sure he is better off with the national team rather than some island somewhere partying.

Was played centrally behind the striker last night, its like southgate has never seen him play for us, complete waste of time. Play him wide right you clown.

And if he has a great tournament he’ll come back full of confidence and ready to step up further

Just reading a laughable piece on Arsenal maybe readying an 80 million bid for Cold Palmer🤣🤣🤣

£80 million 😀😀😀

If he wanted to leave we’d be looking at £150 million at least and that would be to Madrid or Bayern.
Anyone in England who wanted to buy him would have to pay £30 million more than that.

I actually think he's England's best option at that position with Maddinson out, neither Foden nor Saka are as comfortable in the centre.

Problem is Harry Kane often plays like a no. 10 and doesn't run the line to create space like Nico Jackson does.

I think Jude has that no 10 position locked

Englands No.10 needs to be able to go into centre forward as Kane drops out as you say, and Cole has shown he has no idea how to play that position. Complete waste of his skills.

Subject to how Southgate sorts out his midfield issues.

For me international tourney is all about struggle ball. Rice + Conor in midfield.

Kane

Foden - Bellingham - Saka

Conor - Rice

Trippier - 😵‍💫😵‍💫 - 😭😭 - Walker

Just invert Trippier, push Conor up high. Foden on the wing

And who protects your emoji-laden defence? And they - whoever they are - are going to need protection.

Chances are he’ll start as sub. Goal behind, what a truly fantastic option. I’m Chelsea and biased, but think the sky’s the limit with this kid

58 years old. First tournament ever going into as favourites- wonder if we’d be favourites overseas if placing a bet?- bookies edging their bets because of patriotic backing….anyway tournament football in the summer…walking down to the pub in a pair or shorts to watch a game of football- absolutely love ❤️ it

That is why I want Conor and Rice in front of those two.

I hope not, it would be massive mistake.

I agree, which is why I dont understand why we are going for Olise. Palmer/Noni for the right wing is perfect and we really should invest whatever funds we have elsewhere. Olise is a cracking player and probably will be great for us though, dont get me wrong - but putting Palmer in that 8’ means he has to more defensive work which I feel is a bit of a waste of his talents. Maybe there’s a different plan for the two of them though, we’ll see

That is what Southgate will go for -  BUT imho if we want to win the trophy . . . Rice goes solo as the DM

Foden - Bellingham - Palmer- Saka

Rice
