May 5, 20242 yr 21 league goals, it's been a long f**king time we've had someone get a tally like that hasn't it? Diego Costa must've been the last one to hit that mark. And he's not even a striker, Lampard would be very proud.
May 5, 20242 yr Beautiful player. Classy, wand of a left foot, creative, full package! This team are going places !
May 8, 20242 yr Echo the comments of well deserved. What a fantastic first season. Such a talented player - he always has time, almost as if things slow down for him - that is a rare quality that few footballers have.

So he is up for there young players of the year and may even get the golden boot and will certainly be in the England squad for the Euros. . .imagine IF we had had a 'good season'. He really is a good player. So pleased he joined us, just hope we can keep him.
May 11, 20242 yr Player of the Month (our first since Hazard in September 2018) and Goal of the Month.

May 12, 20242 yr Since Boxing Day averaging 8.0 on whoscored Ratings aren't an exact science, but over the course of a season, I believe only Suarez in 13/14 has averaged 8+ Incredible player Edited May 12, 20242 yr by bisright1
May 12, 20242 yr Some of his touches, dribbles and eye for a pass are just exquisite. I have lost count of the times I have posted saying I can't understand how Pep has let a player as good as Cole Palmer go. All managers make mistakes, but Pep is meant to be THE greatest when it comes to spotting and developing young talent. Surely you would let a player like Grealish go to find a space for Palmer? Perhaps he just gets some twisted pleasure and can say Chelsea's best player couldn't even get in our side. Who cares, just so glad we have him.
May 12, 20242 yr I don't think Pep was unaware of his potential. But he couldn't offer Palmer regular playing time given who was already ahead of him.

Because he was city 9th best attacker last season and he barely got playing time.

From Mourinho's interview on Mikel's podcast, managers can only do so much. I think that knee injury KDB suffered in preseason 2013 prevented him from really showcasing what he could do. Mourinho never wanted to let him go, he told KDB to stay and be integrated into the team or go on loan for playing time. KDB expected to be playing every match which would've been impossible. We need to remember at the time Oscar and Willian were far better tactically. So in the end, KDB forced a move. It was the club's fault for ignorantly not putting any buyback clause. It isn't so different as Palmer/Pep's situation.

Despite that, the sale of KDB and also Salah, will always be a blight on his managerial career and I'm hoping Palmer will be the same for Pep. Bit like Decca turning down The Beatles! Was thinking if Sir Alex made many blunders? None really spring to mind. Pogba looked like he was going to be one, but the old bugger was proved right to let him go and they should never have spunked millions in re-signing him.

KDB could be argued as a blight on his career but to this day i don't regret us selling Salah. Up to that point in his career he showed absolutely nothing to show he'd be anything more than an Aaron Lennon level player (might be generous if anything).

Palmer had been wanting out of City the season before too. He wanted game time. Pep told him to stay. He didn't get game time. Reading between the lines, it also seems Palmer wasn't keen on Pep's systems. He wanted to play what was in front of him. Hence his praise for Poch encouraging him to do his thing. Palmer might be quiet, might be on the shy side, but there's steel in there. I don't think Pep and Palmer was a relationship that was ever going to work.
