April 26, 20242 yr Really think we need to buy some quality to play alongside Palmer in the Summer. I would like Solanke, he scored 18 so far this season and has panache, bread and butter goals and back heels too. He can join the build up and is reasonably quick. Obviously to bring him in means we would need to sell. If we don't get quality how long before Palmer looks to greener pastures?

Can't see there is anyway we would sign Solanke, when we let him go ages ago for peanuts. Bournemouth would want silly money for him and although he is better than Jackson, he did struggle at Liverpool and maybe a club like Bournemouth is right for him.
April 27, 20242 yr Should have square it just like Sterling!!! But wanted to increase his goal tally rather than think about the team.

The shot was like a cm away from beating the keeper, but the keeper caught it with the back of his foot. 9 times out of 10, that would deflect into the back of the net rather than out for a corner.

In his defence he probably did not want to risk them being offside. However, if he’s going to shoot there he really needed to pick a corner and slot it home. Keeper only saved it cause it was pretty much down the middle.
April 27, 20242 yr It's pretty much his first major f**k up of the season. He has earned the right to be forgiven for it given how much ne has carried us.
April 27, 20242 yr I thought I missed something with talking about him squaring. I didn't even realize that was an option.

You're being ridiculously harsh to a player that has contributed to the majority of our goals this season. Even Messi has missed chances to win games when he could have passed it for a tap in.
April 27, 20242 yr I think people need to back and look at that chance again before saying he should have passed it. Once he picks up the ball, he can't play the pass straight away because it either gets blocked or one of Gallagher or Casadei get caught by the defenders. Once Palmer dribbles passed two defenders, he still can't make the pass because they are both offside. The only time the pass was on was once he had already set himself up to shoot.

I have been up late at night thinking about him scoring that. It would have been one of my favourite goals of the season. I also remember that when we were celebrating the equaliser he was the one shouting at the team to get back into position. I really hope we kick on next season because he deserves better.

Quote The England midfielder received 42% of the vote for the men's award, beating Declan Rice in second and City team-mate Rodri in third. Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and Chelsea forward Cole Palmer made up the rest of the top six. He has done brilliantly to be in the top 6, but it's ridiculous that Watkins got more votes than him (assuming the BBC listed them in ranking order). But these are Football writers, whose work fills the pages The Sun, Mirror, Express, Mail, Star, Metro...

When I think about it, the FWA has to be the most pointless award in football, but it's treated like one of the major ones to win in this country. Why would anybody care about what football "journalists" have to say?

May 5, 20242 yr Brilliant again today, he was everywhere at times. Dropping deep to collect the ball, playing higher up to create. Just an incredibly talented footballer.
May 5, 20242 yr Exceptional debut year. I remember being happy we signed him but no way in hell did i envisage a season like this. Was thinking more of a 15 appearances at best growing into a more regular player on future.
