I think first he needs to acclimatize to our league so he can be assessed as to whether he is up to this level. I think he will adapt and get with the pace and physicality, if he can stay fit. Then i think he and Gallagher may well be the main ones for this spot, depending upon the team we are playing.

Think I'll do weekly updates until we buy him.

Had plenty of chances but Antonio Silva decided to become prime Maldini for a night and blocked everything. The one chance he managed to get away from Antonio Silva he scored and it was a fairly good goal at that. 

That's the thing with Gyokeres though, even on the rare occasion he doesn't score he is still invaluable with his pressing and link up player which created chances for others. Should really have been more goals Sporting scored in the end.

Exactly.  Why would we be. Big physical presence. Pace, ability, scores goals. Why would we want that, surely there is a Brazilian kid somewhere with 8 league games in a farmers league that we can throw money at.

If we were going to be in for Gyokeres than surely it would have happened last summer as a £20m signing from Coventry ? The money being quoted for him now makes it a non-starter. 

I imagine we had a look ...  Winstanley was probably involved in signing him when he was at Brighton, and, with line of sight of loans he had while he was there, he would have known all about him, and elected instead to sign Jackson.

He was probably considered too old.

Our fans would be in uproar if we signed a CF from Coventry as our main CF. Our fans always like the big name.

I wish he stayed another year at Sporting but he'll obviously move at the end of the season to a europe giant, one of the best footballers I've seen in the portuguese league.

But yeah it's still the portuguese league, very different from the premier league and Sporting will ask for no less than 80m

Yeah I think it's heading this way. We'll have to sell alot of players to fund the likes of Oshimen and Gyokeres.
