I'm not a fan of the Conference League in all honesty, I still can't view it as anymore than a competition that rewards failure. I value the Europa League much higher and if we were in that and won it, I feel like it would be a big step for this group. I'm not sure they are ready though, so I would take the Conference League if I had to. It's European money at the end of the day.............and we also can't say we've won it all anymore unless we win this one 😆

If we're not ready to win the Europa league then my god are we in trouble as a club

We just finished 12th and 6th, we have no business disrespecting anybody. There will be teams with players far more experienced than our players when it comes to European football. A good chunk of our players haven't even played in the any of the 3 major European competitions and don't have a single winners medal to their name at this level. We have also had full seasons that have been ruined by injuries, something that needs to change.

Us not being ready to win the Europa League doesn't necessarily mean we are in trouble as a club, it's just that our players lack the experience. Now if we can keep Nkunku fit and get him firing, and if we can get some experienced leaders in the team, I may change my mind.

Disrespect? I mean I think we all know we have no divine right to win anything but my god to say we aren't ready to compete at Europa level is madness.

The players have had a year under their belt now. Palmer is a class act and with a fully fit squad and a manager that I expect to push on, we should have that competition as a target to win.

Actually a very hard trophy to win.

Apart from us winning it twice out of two attempts, English clubs have won it once (Man U) in 74 tries in the last 21 seasons ... and it is once in 32 for our "big 6" rivals. Liverpool have been in it 7 times and no wins. Arsenal 5 ; City 4; United 1 win out of 6, and Spurs 0 out of 10 LOL

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the new European league table format doesn't have Champions League clubs being dumped into the Europa League now.

Should we qualify, we only have Spurs (lol) and Roma to worry about.

I didn't say we couldn't compete, I said that I don't think we are ready to win it.

I think we are definitely ready to win it. We're definitely good enough too. CL teams no longer drop into Europa and over 2 legs there won't be a team we realistically will not be favourites against.

This is a great point. Of course there would likely be some teams that inevitably have good years and become problem like Frankfurt last time we were in it and Luka Jovic turned into Fat Ronaldo for a season, but on the whole the new CL format does probably make it more achievable.

Instead of the group stages it's now a single League. ( Europa League)

We would play 8 different teams. 4 of them at home , the other 4 teams away .

And then something else happens, top 8 go to knockout ( I think) then there's play offs for teams lower down.

Bit convulated tbh , I'm sure we'll get the hang of it though

Wait, there’s no group stages anymore? What on earth? Is this the same for champions league too?

Yeah  I think so .

The EUFA website will do your head in trying to understand it all !

It's pretty simple to understand. Well tbh I'm in the year 2048 on football manager lol.

But yeah, one big league top 8 go through go through to the last 16. The 16 clubs below have a playoff to complete the last 8 spots and it's knockouts as usually.

The Conference League is a top honour. If you win it, you can justifiably call yourselves "Champions of Europe". Don't believe me? Just ask any West Ham fan.

I am glad to play in either of the league's. Conference for us is new, Europa is pretty competitive. Europa by 52% but if it is Conference it is fine. Would be more annoyed MU winning FA Cup with the coach and the squad they have.
