Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

It's just Palmer taking over the game.

Noni and Neto are both among the worst wingers in Europe in take ons and take on success %, so by default when the ball gets to them they will either do nothing with it or recycle it backwards. This was incredibly evident that first half. It's no surprise we started to see Palmer drift wider to the right in the second half given how useless Neto was, which allowed Enzo to take up more of that attacking space alongside Jackson.

Imagining what Olise would've brought to the team at RW would be incredible.

Palmer basically coming out and saying he was bored of passing sideways and backwards so decided to just go for it, then we scored goals, is pretty damning. Lets see how Maresca takes that.

I saw that. However you don't know whether he was criticizing Enzo's style or tactics or just that our side was flat as Reece said. I am 100% sure Enzo is not saying to the lads to be flat, circulate the ball. They were in shock after Betis goal and very slow in general in the first half.

Enzo needs to work out how we would start games much more quick. That has been a problem of late. Back in the day Jose always urged players to start quick. Scoring early is a great

At least Neto has a goal or decent cross in him. Noni is absolute trash. Should be a wing back.

Not only Neto, the two assists came from Palmer ignoring an easy pass to Noni.

Yes that Forest. They came 7th and we were away to a top 4 rival (your favourite phrase).

Whatever way you want to spin it, finishing the season 8-2-2 and with a piece of silverware is a solid ending to a season.

Can anyone in the league bar Liverpool or Palace claim a better ending ?

Forest's form had exploded weeks before. The only team to be in the top 3 GW30 and not finish in the top 5.

Did any other team have such fortunate circumstances for their run in?

We got fortune with Liverpool winning the league prior to our game that’s it, still had to go out and beat them which is something Arsenal failed to do in a similar position.

Villa literally finished the season against Spurs reserves a few days out from the europa final and a dejected man United, If you want to talk about fortune and yet they still couldn’t get the job done.

anyway as I thought, you can’t put forward any decent argument for anyone other than Liverpool or maybe palace having a stronger finish to the season.

The jury is still out on Maresca and there’s a number of valid criticism of him, but picking holes in every single result over a 3 months period is ridiculous. Conversely, I’d say the same if someone was offering excuse after excuse for him after every game we were crap from Xmas to February.

Other teams failing doesn't change the fact that our run in was incredibly easy. I don't care how Villa did tbh.

I don't know why you'd want to die on a hill that is obviously a load of old bo**ocks UB LOL

We had the hardest finish of any side in the top 10 based on league position of our opponents, and when you factor in our poor record against the likes of Everton, Man United etc etc then it looked even more tricky on paper. It's why our Opta computer prediction for making Top 4 was such a low percentage for several weeks ... so you have to give credit to the team for finishing 2nd in the league over those last 12 games (the 8-2-2), despite performances being unconvincing ... the epitome of winning ugly so to speak ...

Do you watch the matches or just check the league position at the end of each season?

Mate clearly you’re one of delusional Chelsea fans who think we can just go back to what we did pre Ukraine war. Things take time and as a proper Chelsea fan I’m gonna back our gaffer and give them time. If u don’t like it just f**k off and support a team that wins every year

Tieing yourself up in knots here rather than just admitting it was a solid end to the season, in terms of results, even if performances were not always great

Teams at a similar level to us this season( Man City, Arsenal, Villa , Newcastle etc) failing to beat teams that we did on our run illustrates it wasn’t particularly easy.

Secondly, you just asked did anyone have more favourable circumstances, I pointed out Villa and now suddenly you don’t care about Villa 😂😂

Why is it bo**ocks? I've explained it multiple times.

Poor record against Everton? We haven't lost to them at home since 2011 in the FA cup. 1994 in the PL.

Mentioning INEOS Utd is laughable, they're lucky not to get relegated.

On paper Liverpool and Forest looked hard but as we saw Liverpool won the league and took a holiday and Forest's form completely blew up with 7 games to go.

Sorry, who are you? Aren't you the clown that created a thread dick riding Maresca lmao hope he sees these messages bro

What knots?

I don't care about any other teams, i'm not sure why you keep mentioning them. I care about what i've seen on the pitch since December and its been abysmal football.

Honestly I don't know why you are even trying to argue that black is white. Your prerogative, but you look a bit of a cock in doing it LOL

Because you asked which teams had a more favourable run in? Not to mention your original point named the 12 teams we played and called them fodder, hungover, crap form etc, but apparently you don’t care about other teams.

I’d of thought giving out examples of how teams around Chelsea in the table fared against the same opposition is a pretty obvious thing to do, when trying to gauge how hard or easy fixtures were.

Ok whilst I agree in part, it’s a side point to what I originally said that going 8-2-2 is a decent achievement from a results standpoint point , which you took exception too.

Hang on. You were saying only the other day that the best teams in the world play " turgid" football. Now you're saying we gotta start games faster. ??!! And if Maresca is telling the players NOT to circulate the ball it'll be against everything he insists the team should be doing

Thank heavens the players did it their way eventually, despite him .

You're proper Chelsea and you're going to back the gaffer and give him time.

But our owners haven't been backing the managers have they ?

Our owners haven't been giving them time have they ?

Your anger is directed at our fans instead,. You're "proper Chelsea" and say we can't go back to what we used to be. . We should never have stopped being what we used to be.. Decisions by the owners put paid to that. ...

And if you're "proper Chelsea" you would know that supporting someone else isn't an.option..

Your anger should be directed somewhere else mate.

That "support another team" outburst if someone doesn't agree with you is just childish. Leave it out and debate properly.

You're allowed to look at the circumstances rather than just league position. Is everyone just ignoring what i keep repeating for fun or something? Liverpool were on holiday, Newcastle beat us, INEOS Utd, and Forest form blew up in their face.

Why is everyone ignoring these circumstances? We got VERY lucky.
