When Pep is sacked at city, will it trigger a tsunami effect across the league of all the pep lites?

Can’t come soon enough it’s f**king pathetic.

Russell Martin was a perfect example on that last season Southampton fans were calling out for a change yet his stubbornness kept playing the same way and cost them a spot in the premier league.

He still trying to play through the middle and Palace and Fulham nullified that tactic both times. We got lucky today it wasn’t the coach who won us that match today as he got out coached by Silva today.

It seems he still stubborn and can’t seem to adjust his tactics when opposition managers clearly figured out how he wants to play.

Last season it was his stubbornness and some of the dreadfully dull football which really made me wish Maresca wasn't our manager. For a period I couldn't stand seeing him being interviewed.

But give credit where it's due. We made top 4 and got CL football, won the Conference and then somehow, against all the odds, became CWC winners and winning the final in style. So he has earned credit and we have to accept, he won't be going anywhere anytime soon. If the football continues to improve then they'll be no complaints from me but if given the chance right now, to swap Maresca for Glasner or even Iraola, I would 100% take it.

Glasner yes but Iraola I fear would be more of the same

I agree that he's going nowhere and that he delivered last season (top 4 and a very low level Conference League and a CWC with a very good final set up) despite being one of the worst seasons I've seen. However, I disagree with the bold part. So far, I don't see much improvement from last season, to be honest.

Glasner will no doubt get snapped up by a bigger club sooner rather than later (poor Palace).

But I also rate Iraola. He has Bournemouth playing really good football despite having a very limited squad of players. I can see Forest sacking Nuno soon and probably going for Iraola (think Glasner will hold out for a bigger job - United or Arsenal?)

I'm trying to decide what's the worst use of someone's time 😎

  1. Making an utterly fatuous graphic to post on Twitter

  2. Finding and sharing said graphic

  3. Commenting on the post with the shared graphic, and henceforth becoming #3 in the list 😂

Hmmm..not to comment on anyone's posts too much but....the image is factual which is fine I guess. The banter between clubs fans is part of this footballing fandom. Posting that to anywhere is banter I guess.

Posting it here means something positive was posted hence it is wrong and is not part of the banter that should go on here.

But again I know nothing.

You don’t support anything this club does, so your opinion is moot to me.

I was definitely Maresca out, and tbh I still dont like how we are setup sometimes, but the run we have been on has put credit in the bank now. Sustained period of good results against some good teams too.

So with that said I feel a bit for him in this transfer window, there is no way he is happy with what we have done, and in someways we feel weaker and even more less experienced as a group than we were going into last season.

I can accept the goalkeeper and centre back situation to some extent as we have some high potential players out on loan, but we just seem too raw at the top end now for me.

Guiu, Gittens, Buonanotte, Garnacho, none of these players have a single sesson playing regularly in the top flight. Thats half our attack. Estavao looks like he is adding experience! We have Palmer, Neto, Delap, and Pedro, that are actually ready to compete now.

Now Palmer and Delap are out, and we looking incredibly thin.

We have brought in an absolute fortune this window, but I dont think Maresca has been given a team capable of finishing above 4th over the course of the season.

Realistically we can finish 2-3. Liverpool have a better team and have added an insane amount of firepower to their squad. Next year certainly we can compete.

Just looking through the squad, and we are looking like we'll have at least 10 new players out of a squad of 26, and that's without addressing the obvious weaknesses at the back !

This is (again) a quite ridiculous level of annual upheaval, and makes Maresca's job far harder than it ought to be.

We're a business, not a football club.

You can see it by certain posters, they will ignore the glaring issues in the squad and celebrate potential future profit from sell on clauses and potential obligations like they're trophies. Its an indictment of the modern game and the new era of fan.

The average age of the squad at this point is less than 23 with only 4 players older than 25 !

Certainly a different approach to football ... that's for sure.

The fact is that football clubs have no choice but to be run as a business. and just as in the outside business world where owners run their companies in differing ways so football clubs are run in different ways. Is there a perfect model ?

It is indeed an indictment of modern football but what’s the alternative declare UDI ? The simply reality is without factoring in things like transfer income etc then you can’t in reality get a true perspective of modern day football. If finances didn’t matter why is there so much concern about commercial deals?

I am not an “ new era fan” indeed I would guess I was watching way before many on here were even born and as you know I take close interest in the financial side of football .

Of course we all know that there are issues within the squad that need addressing but save Liverpool and Arsenal I would guess most clubs supporters will see glaring issues in their squads.

Bet your glad I am posting again !!!!!

We have lots of options for him now behind the 9.

Left: Ganacho, Gittens, George, Neto, Joao Pedro

Right: Bounanotte, Neto, Estevao, Palmer

Center: Enzo, Joao Pedro, Palmer, Estevao, Bounanotte, Santos

10 options for 3 positions

It is pretty straight forward, if you want improvement, sign better player.
