Honestly, his profile for value looks great. Could’ve been far more expensive 2-3 years down the line. Seems like a complete player.

He's valued at €3m on Transfermarkt, so signing him for €14m certainly fits our model under this ownership !

And I guess we've given up on Ugochukwu and Lavia if we need to sign yet another DM 🙂

Transfermarkt has a poor reputation in their market value analysis. Transfermarkt has Jackson’s market value currently at £35m yet CIES observatory has him at £73m, which is more in line to what young PL strikers are going for.

6 foot 3 as well. If he is picked in the same defence as Tosin we have added some good height to our back line.

Personally I don't think anything is obvious in terms of our starting line up right now, and this Veiga guy has certainly had most of his limited experience to date at DM rather than LB or CB, so I doubt he's playing LB ahead of two specialist guys who are earning £175K and £200K a week, and if he's LCB then Colwill is probably on the bench, which again I don't see as very likely. 

Surely more likely Veiga is on the bench, or left out of the match day squad completely.

Love this signing - not for the player who I have never heard of, and who may or may not be any good - but for the way in which we are signing him.

Not a dicky bird - and then BAM...he is signed.

It is like Colin Hutchinson is back as our MD. Love it.

The last player we signed from basel turned out alright....albeit, not for us.

I think it’s more in line with what we are currently seeing in the Premier League market. Especially for any young competent PL striker let alone one on a long term deal. Almost 20 goals all comps his debut season and none penalties. 

Veiga was genuinely Calafiori’s  replacement at Basel before he moved to Bologna and their profile is very similar. I think the futures of Chilwell and Cucurella are uncertain. Especially the former.

The truth is probably somewhere in between. Jackson scored more goals than most of our strikers since Drogba. 
 

He’s definitely worth more than we paid for him that’s for sure. Hes 23 and will definitely improve. 
 

I’ll assume you don’t actually believe he’s only worth £3.5 million

Could be a very smart signing squad depth wise. And in reality even if he turns out to be fairly average for us, hes still going to move on for similar to what we've paid.
