If you listen to Younes half of the deals he says are as good as done, haven't even had a bid yet. Apparently Felix to Benfica is virtually a done deal. Oh and Chilwell, Nkunku, Disasi and possibly even Sterling will be going in the summer. Will they? To who, exactly?

So far we have sold Kepa (Release Clause therefore no negotiation), Petrovic (Gentleman's Agreement therefore no negotiation), Amougou (sold to ourselves), Samuels-Smith (selling to ourselves and still not done yet) and Madueke (where is this reported as being completed?)

    Ive got a strong feeling he's been loaned with a view he is definitely competing with Sanchez to be our starter next season.

    If that wasn't the case we'd probably have gone all in on Donnarumma.

    Petrovic I think we'd have kept if he was prepared to fight for his place rather than be guaranteed.

    Hopefully Alonso will make Penders No.1 like Mourinho did when he installed Courtois over Cech. Then Sanchez can seek a new club if he isn't happy being back-up.

    I feel like he was hyped up a lot when we signed him as the new Courtois kind of signing. Is he actually any good? Or just another case of these scouts not knowing what they are doing?

    He’s good. He’s probably as good as Sanchez is now but is still growing as opposed to being at his peak. Could be great.

    Hopefully Alonso changes the attitude and culture in that locker room and young players like Penders can grow into professionals instead of petulant children.

    We've lacked real quality in goal since Courtois departed in 2018. Kepa started ok, but his save % was poor and we know how that ended. Mendy seemed steady, but after a purple patch (that couldn't have ended any better), he quickly became a bag of nerves in goal - that West Ham away goal still haunts me. Then came Sanchez, and we've seen it all with him.

    My wish - a GK we stop talking about for a season. Dependable, consistent and present. Will take something special to reach the Cech and Courtois levels again - small steps and optimistic for Penders. Plus his name sounds like someone you'd get a beer with - "I'm off for a pint with Penders, be back soon".
