He's the only one who can realistically stretch and occupy a pair of CBs. I agree he's not been good of late, but I think his workrate is needed. The few times he's been taken off we lose our outball and become much easier to stifle.

I dont think we have been that bad, we are pressing well and Jambon de Gauche have not bothered us. Just need to play a bit faster and get shots on target.

Now if we'd engaged in any serious squadbuilding over the past 3 years then this wouldn't be a problem as we'd presumably have a decent bit of competition for him.
