Maybe with a forced hand we see more of that thru end of season (with Lavia and Enzo also playing), but relies on a front 3 of Neto, Palmer and Noni. Is there enough goals in that setup? Not saying the alternate is much better, just thinking out loud.

St.James feels worse than Anfield with how the ref is influenced by the home crowd.

I'm sure Neto, Noni and Palmer would get progressively better with each game...

Sadly, Jackson has been there a couple of years now and he still doesn't seemed to have grasped the basic rules of the game.

Maresca and the other 🤡 on the pitch have lost todays fixture for us and now we are depleted vs United and Forest the perfect end of season gift for the top 4 rivals. Not confident for top 5 now and Betis are a different outfit to the conference teams in the qtr and semis. Could end up with the same outcome as last season - as a fan I’m of course disappointed at todays result and that potential outcome of 6th again. As a hater of Clearfake and Maresca serves them right if we do place 6th and lose the final.

Don't think we had a chance either way going into todays game.

One team is mentally equipped for these challenges and the other is not, the moment you put this group of players and manager into a pressure cooker situation away from home they will buckle.

Just gotta hope we get fortunate with the last 2 games.

Thought the early goal rattled us. We lost confidence throughout the team and didn't take risks in passing between the lines. We held onto the ball for too long and Newcastle saw we were rattled. We didn't respond after goal and Maresca has to take most of the responsibility for this.

We were in the game until Jackson sending off but fought valiantly until the whistle. We are a better team with James on the pitch. I would really like to know why he isn't. Are we still protecting him and is it because we want him next season or are we selling.

On the plus side, we are three points better off than I thought we were going to be from back-to-back fixtures against Liverpool and Newcastle !

Jackson has probably cost the club a cool 100m in CL revenue and sponsorship. That’s quite an achievement. I hope the Board are happy for showing so much faith in him.
