Good job they've now got a team of 5 ...

If they all pull a solid 8 hour day on the phones for the next fortnight they might just be able to track down someone who'll agree to be our next bloody manager LOL

Lunch with Eghbali for the one who closes the deal !

Ooooooh. Are they finally getting some heat??

Eghbali can always sacrifice them to move the lense away from himself. Easy to pick up some more ex accounts to be yes men.

EXCL: Inside Chelsea: The truth about the project

I sat down with Chelsea’s Sporting leadership team

This has to be the stinkiest pile of horse sh*t sports journalism has ever seen.

What an awful read. Good on Danny and Simon for cashing in a nice check for that though. Fair play.

I bet that "journalism" moved him........TO A BIGGER HOUSE!!!!!!

When you peep who we've signed, it makes complete sense why we are performing like a mid table side. A season where the ownership promised a raise in transfer standards if we qualified for the Champions League. Also winning the Club World Cup on top of it.

What did we do? Sign more mid table players.

Delap (18th Leicester)

Pedro (8th Brighton and didn't even start for them)

Neto (14th Wolves)

Gittens (Whole world knew he'd be worse than Mudryk)

Garnacho (15th United, worse dribble success % in the league)

Buonanotte (18th Leicester)

KDH (Championship Leicester)

Hato (a baby)

Tosin (14th Fulham)

Jorgensen (18th Villarreal)

I think Neto gets a hard time. The guy is such a hard worker and is the least of our problems. Pedro is also a decent squad addition. I'm on the fence with Garanacho. We should've got him for 30m or less considering the circumstances. Gittens was a criminal signing.

We should've bolstered our attack and defence with a top signing in each.

Agreed and I tend to point to similar hard worker players present in every freaking silverware we ever got.

I think both this focus on individuals as well as some of the flack Maresca got is just a reflection of a very insufficient roster for the ambition that the fans have -- not the ownership. In a more organic situation, Neto wouldn't have a nailed in place in the squad, and would instead be used strategically in specific games and when on form. Currently, there are player who will play no matter what, and too many of them do play even when in poor form.
That's not on the manager, or the players themselves, but the club.

If the club wants someone that will give 100% and run up and down, sign me up.

Works as a joke, but football today is very physically demanding.

The will to run up and down can be very different from actually being able to do it at this level. Tbf, there are players who also lack the will do do that.
Neto is actually ranked among the fastest players in the PL.

He's in poor form and it happens. Why don't we have options who are ready to come in and do what he does? Other PL clubs do.

120 mil on Gittens, Garnacho and Delap in one window. Enough said.

As long as we are running blue co secret elite 2.0 strategy we need to get used to look at transfer fee differently.

We need to see it as can we get our money back or more in 4/5 years time?

Yep, if anything we need to double down on our strategy and continue with our relentless pursuit of replicating the model of our little cousins from the South cost.

£56m loss off the back of a £107m in year loan from Tony Bloom. Player trading loss of £153m on balance. 68% revenue spend on wages. Blueprint!

Brighton back to normal. They only made a profit in seasons when BlueCo gave them inflated transfer fees ...

Same model as Roman ... large owner loa s to prop them up. Except no trophies LOL

Doesn't quite fit the plucky underdog showing the big boys how it's done narrative eh?

I can play this out now.

We will pump fake Yildiz for a few weeks, until the player rejects us and the BlueCo PR machine will claim they are happy with their current wingers.

Well then spend 2 months trying to get Mainoo with zero competition, and still somehow overspend. Mainoo, who is slower than Enzo Fernandez, will make us all wish Enzo was still on the pitch.
