Well I go back to 1966 when the Queen presented the WC. In 1996 she presented the Euro trophy.

In 1978 the head of the military ( which was in control) in Argentina presented the WC

I think Macron presented the 2018 WC.

That’s all I can remember

Yes, it's not uncommon at all. What was absolutely unique was inserting himself into the actual team celebration. 😂

And his raised fist celebration to the crowd when he walked onto the pitch and his traditional pointing at someone in the crowd, like at a MAGA rally.

In his interview about an.hour afterwards , when asked what it said about America successfully hosting this competition...he actually brought up Biden and the previous administration destroying America !!

Can't take anything away from our absolutely astonishing trophy win .

Oh right, I remember now, especially the 1978 WC, when the Netherlands had lost the final 😡

I also lip-read a "Congratulations" when he shook hands with a player of the losing team 😁

I like watching other teams fans reactions to our trophy winning games.

Mark Goldbridge, Utd fan , Chelsea hater ..When we scored the 3rd goal he actually sat back and applauded! He said " this all I can do, just applaud this performance"

Earlier on he said" I can't even say it's a poor PSG performance, it's because Chelsea have totally dominated them and fully deserved to be leading " .

The AFTV fan watch along by one of there fans seems to be cut short after one of our goals, " God , I hate that team" 😂🏆😂🏆🏆🏆🏆

😂That's him all over. Did you see him asking the players of one of the teams in the Whitehouse, " would a woman be good enough to play in your team" ?.... Embarrassing silence.. He turns round and asked the coaches etc.... When told they have a good women's team already..." But they have to play with other women, right?"

I love watching Rants. He respects us and lauds Cole Palmer. Out of all our rivals, Utd fans seem to have the most respect for Chelsea which I appreciate.

World football chief Gianni Infantino has forged a close relationship with Donald Trump. World football governing body FIFA has boosted its ties with U.S. President Donald Trump by opening an office in New York’s Trump Tower. The move comes a year ahead of the men’s World Cup which is being hosted across North America and a year after FIFA opened an office in Miami.

Hello, first of all, congratulations on being the first Club World Cup champions in history. And second, I hope you appreciate this title for what it is: a true Club World Cup where you face the champions of each continent.
P.S.: I don't know how it is for you, but here in Argentina, and in the rest of South America, a lot of importance was given to this tournament. Unfortunately, we (River) went with the worst squad in the last 15 years.

I had a look on the Redcafe forum,

Two posters caught my eye,

One, why is the BBC saying 'Chelsea World Champions'?

Second - Chelsea have strengthened and have a strong squad and could be a real force next season.

Another I heard perhaps on tv is Chelsea had the youngest squad and they can only get better it's scary they could dominate for a generation.

On the flip side hearing that Joao Pedro does have injury absences.

Thanks !

But we also won it in 2022 .

Keep the politics out of the matchday thread.

I don't care if you love Trump or hate him, this is not the place for this type of discussion.

We can't pretend he didn't insert himself into the middle our team's trophy celebrations though . . That deserves comment and our opinions.

I agree with you that we shouldn't be turning the thread into a political discussion.even if Trump managed to turn the event political with his interview afterwards...

I get that buddy, but there is a difference between discussing it to then long-term members calling each other names and other people whores! The Right vs Left thing drives me up the wall; the powers want people divided. If you're going to choose a side in the thread, let's all choose Enzo Maresca's!

It cost me a good half hour tidying it up in here, bastards! 👀

Understood mate, and quite right. Sorry about gently stirring the pot ! 👍 👍🏆🏆🏆🏆

Sheer coincidence of course....

"World Cup process effectively acted "to ensure that Saudi Arabia was selected as host.”

Not long after Saudi Arabia’s announcement was formalized, sports streaming service DAZN paid $1 billion for the broadcast rights for the Club World Cup tournament. A few weeks later, a subsidiary of the PIF ( Saudi Arabia Private Investment Fund) acquired a minority stake in DAZN worth $1 billion. Then, FIFA announced the prize money for the tournament: also $1 billion."

Just to temper everyone’s expectations this isn’t Chelsea in a Cup Final, this is BlueCo CFC LDN.

We can’t rely on that past grit, determination and all round sh*thousery. We’re now a ‘system’ team with the only natural leader in the side being Enzo Fernandez.

Accept we’re going to get turned over heavily and take anything else as a positive.

For all the eye rolls and hate you send my way, I hope you hang your head in shame and show humility and maturity in the future.
