Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2025/26

Strasbourg won 3-0 v Auxerre last night with Joaquin Panichelli scoring (again). Hes got 10 goals in 13 games for Strasbourg. We could do with some of that, dont suppose a loan or purchase in January is possible.

Not a rival and I wonder if other clubs will do the same. May give them paws for thought.

Season Tickets For Dogs

Cowdenbeath FC Launch Season Tickets for Dogs – a Paw-some First for Scottish Football!

When Cowden appointed a new Commercial Manager who’s Cowdenbeath FC daft and dog mad, the club probably should have expected something like this…

The Blue Brazil have officially become the first (we think) football club to launch season tickets for dogs – giving loyal four-legged fans the chance to join their humans on matchday at Central Park.

The quirky new initiative celebrates Cowdenbeath’s reputation as one of Scotland’s most welcoming and community-focused clubs. The Dog Season Ticket even comes with a personalised lanyard, photo ID, and access to the specially designated “Woofside Stand”.

It started as a bit of fun,” said the club’s Commercial Manager, Graham Lyons. “But Cowdenbeath FC has always been about inclusion and community spirit — and that extends to our furry supporters too. Football brings people together, and dogs are very much part of that family!

Fans can expect plenty of tail-wagging at upcoming fixtures, as well-behaved dogs are now officially invited to enjoy the matchday atmosphere alongside their owners.

Terms & Conditions

All canine supporters must be kept on a lead, remain well-behaved, and refrain from chasing players, referees, or the match ball — no matter how tempting it may be. Tail wagging is strongly encouraged, while barking at referees is tolerated within reason.

The club’s first official Dog Season Ticket holder is Ozzy Pawsbourne – a Shih Tzu known affectionately as “The Prince of Barkness” – proudly holding ticket number DOG-001. Ozzy can be often be seen at Central Park wearing his Cowdenbeath FC jacket.

When asked for comment, Ozzy reportedly said: “Woof.”

A club spokesperson added, “We think that translates to ‘Delighted to be part of the Blue Brazil pack!’”

“Cowdenbeath FC are leading the way when it comes to community football,” added the club spokesperson. “We want Central Park to be a place where everyone feels welcome — even those with four paws!”

I watched a fair bit of Panichelli this season and I really, really like him. His style of play is so old-school like the late 90s-00s Argentine strikers - Batistuta, Crespo, Higuain etc. Great movement, quick and agile, lethal with the head or the foot, can finish from any angle and deceptively good on the ball too.

He is too quick and strong for Ligue 1 and Conference League defenders so hard to get a true picture of his potential this season, and his style of play might be considered too direct and outdated for modern football, but I think he's a proper goalscoring talent.

Bit off subject but an article about why there is only one game on Boxing Day this year.

Premier League to only have one Boxing Day game 'because...

The "expansion of European club competitions" has led to there being just one top-flight game on 26 December, says the Premier League.

The "expansion of European club competitions" has led to there being just one game on 26 December in the English top flight, says the Premier League.

Boxing Day fixtures have been a long-standing tradition in English football but this year the only Premier League game will be Manchester United's home match with Newcastle United (20:00 GMT).

"The Premier League would like to acknowledge the circumstances that have led to a reduced number of matches on Boxing Day this season - impacting an important tradition in English football," the league said while confirming the schedule for this year's festive fixtures.

"There are now several challenges to Premier League fixture scheduling rooted in the expansion of European club competitions - which led to a revision of our domestic calendar ahead of last season, including changes to the FA Cup.

"This ultimately left the Premier League as a 33-weekend competition - fewer than previous seasons, despite being a 380-match competition since 1995.

"With fewer weekends to work with, the League is bound by how the calendar falls."

This year Boxing Day falls on a Friday - it will be followed by seven games on Saturday, 27 December.

The remaining two games will then be on Sunday, 28 December - Sunderland v Leeds and Crystal Palace v Tottenham - before matchweek 19 starts with six games being played on Tuesday, 30 December.

The Premier League added: "The league can give an assurance that next season there will be more Premier League matches on Boxing Day - as the date falls on a Saturday.

"As with previous years, and in keeping with our commitment to clubs, special arrangements have been made to allow more time between games played across the festive period.

"This will allow greater time for players to recover with the rest periods between rounds 18, 19 and 20 being increased to ensure that no club plays within 60 hours of another match."

More to follow.

Coventry don’t half play some attractive football, might be worth having a look at their manager for the future…

At least he isn't bald.

Yet… there are certain angles where a holiday to Turkey wouldn’t go amiss for Super Frank.

I try to ignore those angles.

Third time's the charm.

Just now, just said:

And another goal for Captain Declan Rice. Almost wish @Argo and @Gol15 were here just so we could debate how Jorginho is a much superior player.

The decision to prioritise Enzo Fernandez ahead of Declan Rice is looking better and better LOL. Well played Eghbali !

Yup.rice is a Chelsea fan too so we could have had him and Caicedo. What a midfield that would have been.

That would require knowing what you are doing though.
