Course we do. We have everyone playing their position and a 3 man midfield.

We're playing the same system we always do. Basically this in possession:

Cucurella needs to calm down ffs

Pedro too naive

Agree. He’s struggling positionally like he did against Olise and Bayern as well. Every threat from Brighton’s right side.

We're winning, but I can't say it's been good. Controlled the game up until the goal, but we've been sh*t ever since. For as long as we keep making these stupid mistakes, we will keep dropping points.

Too damn slow!!!! Keep the pressure on, otherwise we make a mistake.

Every single time we slow it down, Brighton press us and we lose control. It's the same thing in every single game, but Maresca never changes it. This league will never allow it, but these coaches refuse to accept that fact.

One of the things that baffles is me in football is the amount of times managers make weird decisions.

We have a world class right back in James. We have two great midfielders who can sit in front of the defence in Caicedo and Santos. We have a midfielder who can score goals by crashing the box in Enzo.

But this is the first time we've put those players in the common sense positions this season.

Because they think they are smarter than they actually are. Making a simple game complicated

Clear as day the intensity dropped after the goal. I’d have Garnacho and Gittens both warming up at the start of the 2nd.

When Enzo pushes forward, Santos drops and vice versa. There is always someone with Caicedo to cover the space. That’s typically missing when it’s a Palmer, Enzo, Caicedo midfield.

Again we're a goal up then start arsing about and slowing down instead of putting the pressure on. Hopefully we get the win here

That's actually a common misconception. Player positions are completely static and all players are in the same position relative to each other at all times, like having a stencil over the 10 outfield players. It's why 'tactico' managers and people on the internet are all geniuses.

See now this is what fcks me off massively with this blokes system. I think we've played pretty well and actually, for me, this is the best I have seen from Fernandez so far this season. But I don't know about anyone else, but for me it looked like they were tightening up and seeing out to half time from about 35 mins. That's crazy. Just keeping the ball and playing for possession sakes for 10 mins of the half is asking for trouble.

Why couldn't we match them up and counter on them when Baleba, Minteh etc are getting more advanced. I cannot understand the philosophy of triangle passes out of danger and then thenext pass is back into the triangle or further back to the keeper. Makes no sense to me.

Instead of Caicedo in no man’s land like we saw against West Ham & Fulham I am seeing one of Santos or Enzo with him in the transition.

Not sure what you’re talking about mate.

Mostly I was being silly but my underlying point was that players move relative to each other when they're on the pitch, and any representation of a formation is going to be a general overview rather than an all-encompassing description.
