I wish fans would stop believing that a different manager is the solution..

The project that our owners have imposed on.our club is the problem... from the SD's they have appointed to carry out their transfer policy, from the record spending and subsequent record financial losses, from the managers they have appointed.... those decisions and others have been responsible for the destruction of the elite football club that they bought..

Hiring and then firing within months the guy THEY appointed is another example of their continuing mismanagement of our great football club.. It continues and will not change..It will only get worse.

The owners are cancer, Rosenior is the gangrenous foot. It still needed to be cut out

I agree. Unfortunately this......Loads of management speak waffle which basically means the owners set the strategy and others are responsible for executing the policy.

"Clearlake Capital and Todd Boehly) works within an "integrated football leadership structure" where they set the overall strategy, but co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are responsible for executing the transfer policy.

While Winstanley and Stewart have "enthusiastic backing" and recently signed contract extensions to lead the transfer business, they operate under a rigid, data-driven framework heavily influenced by the owners' high-level goals."

It makes for depressing reading. Football isn't baseball. It's not just data, stats, measuring.

Filipe Luis, Cesc Fabregas and Xavi are the only realistic names on there worth being excited about

It'll probably be Callum McFarlane on a 10 year contract.

Fabregas with less than 2 years experience? Heart ruling head.

No chance of Xabi Alonso.

I don’t think Iraola is a bad shout. I am concerned about Reece James if he became manager though…

Things would feel a lot more positive for me if he became the manager. PL experience, plays nice football, much better than Rosenior, and probably Maresca too.

I feel Maresca is massively overrated by everybody, not this fanbase, everybody else. I’m seeing a lot of stuff about how he was a genius, I swear a lot of people have really short memories.

I feel Iraola is more of a safe bet than Felipe Luis. He’s another gamble, do we really want to take another one?

Very few proven winners out there and if there is, they don’t seem interested in Chelsea.

Alonso has barely been mentioned yet, so it seems Iraola/Fabregas/Filipe Luis is the best we can hope for. All showing promise but all of them with risk as well.

Bayern and Arsenal have had some success going for rookies but us not so much.

Filipe Luis did an amazing job at flamengo. Classy guy who's known and liked by all players and tactically savvy. Wouldn't be a terrible appointment.

Great appointment :

Simeone

Emery

Good appointment:

Alonso

Iraola

Acceptable appointment:

Fabregas

I really hope we don't get Felipe Luis, hardly any experience and zero experience in Europe. Glasner I dunno what it is but I just don't like him.

I can't believe the news. Who could have seen this coming???

There should be only one name on the list and that is Hansi Flick. Big noise coming out of Barcelona that he's fed up and wants out of Barcelona. Flick is a disciplinarian who would transform this group of players.

We'll get 'internal solution' Gary O'Neil though.

yeah even if I like Filipe Luis, he'd be on the green side atm.
I'm not sure about Simeone based on the football style he employs. I actually think it would be a good fit for the weak squad we've got, but people seem to want something else (fans, pundits, and perhaps the club).
Emery would be interesting for sure, but he might be happy at Villa for now.
Agreed on the other names.

It’s hard to see why any established, self respecting top manager would want to take the Chelsea job. No clear long term structure, no authority to implement your ideas, a poorly assembled inexperienced squad in need of upheaval, too much interference from those up top when it comes to transfers, substitutions, tactics, team talks, half time and full time dressing room visits etc. Having to operate in these conditions and environment and the risk of permanently damaging your reputation and future employment prospects is just not worth it.

As a Chelsea fan I would advise all prospective managers to stay away under the current ownership.

I also see breaches in financial fair play and regulation coming up due to reckless spending, extortionate prices paid for young players with no resale value, no European football and failure to secure sponsorship.

Here’s an idea, Eghbali, Boehly and the SP’s should be in the dugout when Chelsea are fighting relegation, because that is our current trajectory, and should be in the dugout when Chelsea do get relegated.

His quixotic attitude towards defence as an optional extra would fit right in.

Wow. They sack the manager but the idiots who appointed the last two managers, while failing to recruit properly in the summer, giving the impression they were signing players by picking out names at random from a tombola, while completely ignoring the blindingly obvious deficiencies in the squad — they get to choose the new manger and oversee the summer transfer window!

How do they do it? If I screwed up at work that badly I don’t think I’d get handed a raise, an extended contract, and a pat on the back. I’d be thinking about maybe starting a new career.

I think he lost the dressing room. Explains his post-match interview after the Brighton defeat.

I've been saying this for a while now, the major problem they have imho is Fernandez - he's a troublemaker - worse he's a troublemaker that wants out - worse than that some prick made him vice captain!
