Santos is decent but I'm not sure he's as good as we thought he was. Neto is terribly inconsistent. Essugo and Gittens are question marks, they haven't had the time to show much due to injuries. Fofana hasn't developed into a top class defender despite an early promise at Leicester and he's only been playing because other options apart from Colwill are even worse. If we get quality CB in the summer, I'd be quite content to see him gone. Emegha is unproven but surely he can contribute more than Guiu as a third choice striker. Sarr should probably go on loan. Jackson has some good attributes but he's terrible in front of goal and has mentality issues. Lavia's talent was never the question but at this point he should probably consider a career change because if in any other profession if you had his attendance record you'd be out of a job long time ago. And last, but not least, Malo Gusto. Never rated the man, does nothing well enough and it feels like most people fail to notice how average and limited he is as a footballer.Any thoughts?I can see Neto doing a Victor Moses and becoming a useful WB, Jackson as a Left Sided forward could be worth a punt. Santos, Essugo & Sarr probably deserve another season as I dont think the environment was quiet right to form any judgements. Chalobah is a decent squad player so I would be inclined to keep but Fofana seems like a bit of a flat track Bully and doesnt seem to have the mental capacity to play in a team that will look to challenge for the title.

I like him and wouldn't mind keeping him as a squad player but he'll probably be a top candidate to be sold given that as a homegrown he represents pure profit on the books. He's not good enough to be a starter in a top six side but as a back up I'd rather have him than Badiashile or Tosin.
May 18May 18 After seeing the toss effort they put in this season, I dont care who stays or goes, anyone who isnt committed can f**k right off. That simple. tey should all be available for the right price the lazy SOB's.

The problem is, we need someone who can genuinely challenge James for the RB position and play there regularly with team not suffering a visible drop in quality when Reece isn't available. I just feel Gusto offers very little on both ends and I'd be happy with an upgrade. But seeing as we have much more pressing issues in other areas (CB, GK, LW etc) asking to invest in another right sided full back doesn't seem realistic. Edited May 18May 18 by abramovich

May 18May 18 If our aim is to back Alonso and develop a squad capable of challenging for the title:Goalkeepers: New World Class number 1, Sanchez number 2.Loan Penders, sell the rest.Fullbacks: James, Hato.Sell Gusto and Cucurella, sign genuine competition for James and New number 1 left back.Centerbacks: Colwill, Chalobah as back up.Loan Acheampong (he needs regular games) and Sarr (same as Josh), sell the rest. Sign 1 world class centerback and another very, very good one unless we can get 2 world class centerbacks.Center midfield: Caicedo and Santos.Loan Essugo, sell Lavia and Enzo. Buy a world class physical powerhouse partner for Caicedo (like a Matic) and buy a PL proven rotation midfielder.Wide attackers: Estevao and Quenda.Sell the rest and sign 2 mid 20s attackers suited to Alonsos pressing game.Striker: happy either way on Joao Pedro. If he stays we need a world class Striker in as number 1. If he goes need a solid, hard working second choice who chips in with at least 15 no penalty goals during the season.Sell the rest.

I don’t really get this logic.I'm not saying you need to run fast, you don't need to run fast to play quick football. If James is going to be regular in midfield, he needs to move the ball quicker, turn quicker, move into positions to receive the ball quicker. Until I see him play high tempo football again, something I haven't seen from him in years, then I going to continue to doubt that he can even do it anymore.

If you play flying fb/flying wb. You need to sprint from your backline to forward line and defensively you have to do the same thing. As we have seen in the last three season, he can't do this anymore if he want to keep his hammy intact. James is one of the only players who can complete a first-time long pass, relative to our squad he is the best equipped to handled higher-tempo football.
May 19May 19 If we stay in back 4 our need is simple.. St to rotate with jp. Elite wing attacker. Tall midfield holder. Elite Tall, fast, big cb. Better gk than SanchezBtw this is the same list I have two summer ago and last summer. Edited May 19May 19 by Bob stark

He follows instructions from the manager to a tee, and sadly that results in slow build up all over the team.
May 19May 19 Interesting lists.. Where do you fit in the new signings no one asked for like Quenda, Emegha, Barco, Satpaev, Denner Envagelista. Then you have your Jackson, George coming back from loan, before the manager starts signing what he needs. All without European football. Sorry but the squad is a right mess!
May 19May 19 Had a look at our squad, and it’s a right mess. We have 26 first team players, excluding Wiley & Mudryk. We also have 11 first team players out on loan, and Barco has announced he is coming here.Using the present Utd team without European football as a template, that needs to be trimmed to 20 first team players. A normal team would also give 2 players from the league winning U21s an opportunity to step up, but we aren’t normal.
