Plenty of good performances, but I gave mine to Cech. Always concentrated, always on his toes, saved whatever came his way.

Kalou

He's had a lot of stick on here and I'm not saying he hasn't been pants but tonight as he has done in a few important games he stepped up and done well..OK he was offside on too many occasions but he looked up for it and at leasst run his legs off to get in those positions, fair play to him.

Mentions for Essien and Ballack who I think played well..

Mention for the git that scored the own goal that cost me ninety five quid, I was just checking my winnings on ninety minutes thinking the betting kitty was getting a boost when he done a st Steve.

nico for me, was a difficult one between him and essien but i though that was one of anelka`s best games for us. his runs were superb and he had their defence in a mess.

Essien was excellent but went for Anelka who showed clearly tonight how much there is to his game.

Reminds me, I was well pissed off at the way Beglin and that Manc idiot had a go at Essien for that challenge - the one where he was actually being steamed into from behind by that Atletico player whose name I forget but on another night could easily have been sent off.

The ref was a complete mug, Athelitco should have finished the game with 9 men at least. Everytime we got a break, we got tripped up and they kept on doing it because the ref would not give anyone a yellow.

Moving on, I thought Cech had a stormer of a game.

I couldn't understand all the fuss about Essien's challenge.

really? thats what the dicks on ITV do best, make as big a deal as possible over anything chelsea players do wrong. i wasnt even slightly surprised. im also fairly sure sky sports news will keep replaying it every 15 minutes or so until theres a ban

Jim Beglin drives me mental when I'm watching on ITV, he's so f*ckin' biased it's unreal. And the commentator was just as bad, if not worse!

I've gone for Ivanovic as MOM, he showed that he's far more at home in central defence than at right-back - plus he didn't take any sh*t from the Atletico players.

Ivanovic got right in there, very promising ! Shi7teh will be sniffing mind you !

Good call there. He looks twice the player in central defence. He just edges our Anelka and Essien for me.

I thought Belletti rolled back the years, always eager for the ball and did some nice roughing up when necessary (some of it gratuitous). In this form he's a far better option than Ivan as right-back cover for Bos.

only trouble there is he cant defend

I went Kalou, he wasnt great and missed a sitter but he took his 2 goals well. hopefully gives him a bit of confidence

I voted for Belletti, due to his pin-point crosses and overall good play. Ivanovic and Cech were close seconds.

I made a pact after the first 20 minutes that even if Kalou scored 10 goals, I would not vote him MoM, due to his horrible blunders. How the heck did he get involved with the keeper to cause disallowance of Lamps free kick "goal"? How did he miss that sitter after an excellent pass from Ballack? It is mind-boggling!

Frank Lampard for me. It was great to see him on the scoresheet. He was a bit quiet in the first half (Essien was my pick of the players at that point), but in the second half really stepped up and bossed the game. There was a ten minute period where he was absolutely incredible.

I liked Cech cause he was solid and saved a couple. I think that he was the main reason that atletico stayed in 0.

Went for Lampard. I only saw the first half (saw the highlights of the second half, though) but I saw enough that there is no way Kalou is getting my MOTM vote. For the first 40 minutes, Kalou was absolutely awful. Everytime Chelsea did something promising he ruined it by being offside. He missed an empty net and just generally f**ked up every time he touched the ball. Nobody really stood out in the first half to me. Cech was solid. Essien looked pretty good.

I've gone for Frank because he looked MUCH better than he did at the weekend and because he scored and because I felt like it. So there!
