I'm not surprised she won an award.  She must be incredibly popular amongst the other directors after they all routinely fleece her. I can't say with any inside knowledge we paid the so-called market price, any more than you can say we overpaid for them. Bargains are rare and hindsight is a beautiful thing: neither player set the world on fire playing for us. Why that is, is probably complicated, with many factors playing a role. I don't doubt they're talented, but especially Werner seems to have confidence issues. At different clubs they're bound to thrive 

Anyway, other clubs may have paid the same price or thereabouts as we did. Our scouts, whoever they are, identified them as targets, and Gravonskaia's job was to negotiate a fee. None of us know exactly how those dynamics work. No doubt she has made mistakes, as nobody is 100% perfect at their jobs, but to say she's been horrific is hyperbolic. 

Having said that, many companies benefit from a refreshed boardroom. Perhaps the same will happen for us, it's not necessarily bad news she's gone. Too early to tell now.

Pulisic was absolutely awful at Dortmund and would have left for £5 million if he had a different nationality most likely to Mainz or another club more of his level.

I don't know the commercial numbers and he was a commercial signing not a football one so if it turns out he's brought in 50m a season then fair enough but I find that highly unlikely.  As a player he's never had the talent for the highest level and that had been clear since early in his Dortmund days. I find it incredulous Marina could manage to spend 60m on  a player that wasn't good enough for his previous club.

In terms of transfer fees without looking at the benefit of Hindsight I'd go as far to say the Pulisic is the worst signing in the history of the club.   A player that had never had a good season and was being benched by younger more talented players in a weaker league should never cost the kind of money we squandered.

Pulisic has actually been far better than us than I think anyone who watched him at Dortmund could have imagined he'd be but he's nowhere near the level required and the fee just didn't make sense at all for what he'd shown on the pitch.

But Marina has never been very good at negotiating decent fees for incoming players.

And somehow she's even worse at negotiating contracts which is why we've ended up with so many players we can't sell.

150K a week for Ruben, 170K for Kepa, 120 for CHO,  100K for Drinkwater, 270K for Werner, 150K for Pulisic.

I'd like us to look at Nathan Collins but I realise we never will. Aside from his wonder goal last night he hasn't put a foot wrong in his last 4 matches for Ireland. A glance at the Burnley forum will show how highly they regard him. Good feet, strong in the air, and aggressive in the tackle, I think he will be a star and I'd like us to get in early. He's also a really good lad.

Regardless of the Marina comments, i don't know how the "Chelsea being in safe hands and financially stable" comment can be supported. Let's not forget that the club was £1.5Bn in debt to the owner and if Roman had called the debt prior to any sanctions, then Chelsea were dead in the water. In fact if the takeover didn't happen for another couple of weeks we probably would have been dead any way. The only reason we are curremtly financially stable is because the Boehly takeover has resulted in writing off the subordinated loan.

The amount of time we f**k around in our own penalty area we do need 2 keepers.

We’re not being linked with him but god would Gnarby be a great signing and a far better alternative to Dembele who is less reliable, less versatile, higher wages//agent fees.

This sort of sh*te happens to us every window. We target a player and 9 times out of 10, he ends up elsewhere.

Even if the Barca move falls through, I hope we tell him to f**k off if he decides he wants to come here after all.

It’s a blessing that Kounde is talking to Barca. He is not a good fit for the PL given the more physical play. His recent surgery will also cause him to miss the pre-season. Koulabally would cost less, be a better fit and alllow Chelsea to slowly integrate Colwill into the lineup. It is time to move on from Kounde
