January 16, 201214 yr I think james rodriguez is ready tbf hes young and if he gets much better hell be overpriced which isnt what we need if its genuinly an option i say go for him.. i would love it if we went for eduardo salvio got potential to be amazing and shouldnt cost to much, also want to mention pablo sarabia quality young left winger/attacking mid playing for getafe atm and spanish under 21 these three players are the players i want to see at chelsea as their all young can play all across the support three and wouldnt cost the world

January 16, 201214 yr but with rodriguez he is playing well for columbia and isnt unproven hes just not established and hes showing raw tallent in protugal last players whos played like him ronaldo nani could be a steal, with ffp coming in i think you cant buy proven players for 20 or 30 mil and with the right players it will work wonders to sign these players.. even youngsters like lucas are rated 30 odd mil its just not possible to do that
January 16, 201214 yr Jovetic eh? Not a bad shout. Still fondly remember his destruction of the dippers a couple of seasons back. Knee injury is a worry, but I'd prefer him to Hazard. EDIT: Also here is a further rumour: We're apparently upping our interest in Marseille's left footed right back, who I'm very much hoping doesn't sign for us because I can't possibly spell his name. Interesting. How many RB's would that make it under Abramovich? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Chelsea-transfer-gossip-Pursuit-of-Cesar-Apilicueta-Marseille-right-back-steps-up-after-Cahill-signs-article854539.html Edited January 16, 201214 yr by Spiller86
January 17, 201214 yr http://www.givemefootball.com/premier-league/bundesliga-hotshot-attracting-chelsea-interest Probably nothing in this, but Lucas Barrios from Dortmund is being linked with us. Heard he was on fire last season, but it looks like he hasn't scored a goal yet this season. I'll wait for Spiller's verdict on the matter.
January 17, 201214 yr You know I love my German football eh ace? Barrios was fantastic last season, he is a real poacher, but he got injured at the Copa America and Lewandowski (who we've also been linked with) took his spot and has been doing really well. So it hasn't been easy for him. If this offer was on the table twelve months ago I would have snapped Dortmund's hand off. But now I have two questions: First, should we buy a player out of form and coming back from injury? I think we've all learnt the answer to that question in the last twelve months. Secondly given he at his best is a lesser version of Torres at his best, should we be looking for a bit more variety in our front men? I'd prefer myself to have perhaps more of a link striker. Someone capable of coming in as more of a false nine if required. For me it's all about options, Torres the traditional pace and finishing orientated striker (well supposed to be), Lukaku as more of a hold up man and another striker to play deeper and link the play and keep possession and drag defenders out of position. For those interested in Jovetic. Take a look at the couple of videos at the bottom of this page, very different prospect to the other linked player Hazard. http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2012/1/16/2711363/potential-chelsea-fc-transfer-target-stevan-jovetic?
January 17, 201214 yr spot on spliler, jovetic torres and lukaku, would be a fantastic variety of forwards. i said we should have gone for jovetic in the summer before he extended his contract, although i understand the club waiting to see how he came back from injury. Apart from his fantastic ability, he also has a fantasstic attitude and fights for every ball, similar mentality to david luiz. I actually think we should sign hazard and jovetic, especially as kalou, drogba, and to a lesser extent malouda look to be nearly out of the door. @spiller, what is gotze situation at the moment? what are the chances of a move in the summer, to us, or anywhere?
January 17, 201214 yr Well the purchase of my man Reus by Dortmund might give them a bit more leeway if the right offer came in, but I can't see him leaving before EURO2012 as he wants a spot and will play every week at Dortmund in a settled environment to put his best case forward. I honestly see him going to Bayern in the long run.
January 17, 201214 yr http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7438295/Cesar-hints-at-Chelsea-interest Chelsea target Cesar Azpilicueta claims they need to approach Marseille if they want to sign him this month. Azpilicueta has been linked with a move to Chelsea for some time as the Blues look to bring in a new right-back to solve a problematic position in Andre Villas-Boas' side. Chelsea are thought to be lining up a move for the 22-year-old as they look to add to the signing of Gary Cahill from Bolton. Azpilicueta, who joined Marseille from Osasuna in 2010, has hinted he would be interested in a move to Chelsea if they firm up their interest. "They need to talk to Marseille as I have a contract until 2014," Azpilicueta is quoted as saying in theDaily Mirror.
January 17, 201214 yr Can't be much worse than Bosingwa. Though I'd be happy with Ivan as our first choice at RB.
January 17, 201214 yr http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11668/7438203/United-and-Chelsea-eye-Vorm Got to say, I wouldn't be against it, although I'd rather Tim Krul.
January 17, 201214 yr Why would we want him. We have Cech and Courtois. There's the problem, and Courtois has said that he wouldn't mind staying another season at Athletico so that could still happen.
January 17, 201214 yr It doesnt really matter what he wants, he is under contract at Chelsea so if they tell him to come back then thats what he does.
January 17, 201214 yr It doesnt really matter what he wants, he is under contract at Chelsea so if they tell him to come back then thats what he does. Yes he is but I wouldn't mind giving him another year at Athletico to give him more experience in the big leagues, at least with Vorm or Krul we know that they can perform very well in the premiership.
January 17, 201214 yr Why would we want him. We have Cech and Courtois. well the journalist who made that story up probably has no idea we got courtois
January 17, 201214 yr well the journalist who made that story up probably has no idea we got courtois Agreed. No need for us to throw cash at another keeper. Anyone know how courtois is doing? Haven't seen much la liga this year...
January 17, 201214 yr http://www1.skysport...-striker-claims "There is a lot of choice for this January market," "Since I signed for PSG I have received hundreds of calls from agents proposing their client: Falcao, Tevez, Torres, Berbatov, Pavlyuchenko, Cavani, Llorente. "All want to come here: there is money, there is Paris, there is a good coach." - Ancelotti told Gazzetta dello Sport. Seriously Torres has been offered?! I would be fuming now after all the time we've spent trying to get him playing and scoring he left - only for a ridiculous fee (40m min). Hope it is his agent and not the club touting Torres around, I for one get excited when I see his name on the team sheet. One thing Ancho forgets to mention is the quality of the French Ligue 1 - Pastore came out few months after he joined and questioned the quality of the league and knows if hes to reach heights people have set for him that he wont accomplish that in France especially if there is only one club spending money. Edited January 17, 201214 yr by BenR55
January 17, 201214 yr Probably just the agents. They know PSG have lots of money now and if they get their client a big money move, they get a big slice of it.
January 17, 201214 yr That's more of a Ancelotti wishlist than anything concrete, I would take it with a pinch of salt. First of all, no club in their right mind would bid for Falcao. It would cost at least, £60m to get him away from Athletico (His agent is greedy and so is he and that's without even considering the wages), a team with which he just signed for. Llorente...really? I want some of what he's huffing. So unrealistic it's actually laughable. And as for Torres, he has no reason to leave and Chelsea have no reason to sell. The rest are already well known to leave either in the summer or next Jan so no surprise there.
January 17, 201214 yr Probably just the agents. They know PSG have lots of money now and if they get their client a big money move, they get a big slice of it. Agreed, The agents are just pimps sniffing out where the money is. I doubt it would go any further than that unless the club were fooling us all and realy did plan to offload him. Wouldnt it be crazy to see Torres kind of forced on Carlo last year, only to wind up with him again, by choice, 18 months later? Anyway, its going to be fun to see what PSG can do. Unlike City or Malaga, they have a very cosmopolitan, attractive city that many people would give anything to live in. That plus their money should turn them into a European powerhouse very quickly. Maybe Lyon's record of seven successive league titles will be under threat Edited January 17, 201214 yr by TheWestwayWonder
