July 20, 20223 yr We need to sell some players. Barkley. Dross Barkley needs to move on. Michy Batshuayi is still available. Everton, Besiktas, Southampton and Leeds have enquired, although Leeds have since moved on to other targets and Southampton have a preferred target. The player does not want to return to Turkey. So that leaves Everton. Everton may talk again to Chelsea. No decision will be made until he has been looked at in pre-season. He is not good enough to play for Chelsea. He needs to move on.

Its just crazy that one minute they say Barca have no money and then the next they sell their players to them and expect the fees to be paid.

I agree, although we are also likely to sell a player or 2 to them before the window closes/ I just hope we insist on the full amount up front.

July 20, 20223 yr Dream scenario: Boehly manages to sell Dave and Alonso to Barcelona, signs Kounde from under their noses, and then loans them Malang Sarr with Barca covering all his wages.
July 20, 20223 yr Why do we even cooperate with Barcelona at this point? Edited July 20, 20223 yr by azpi28

It's really strange, we're competing with them and losing in some of them yet we're still in negotiations with them. Can't one of our negotiators just say "If you let us sign player X, we'll lower the transfer fee" or something?

I agree, but i think a lot of the issue is the sense of entitlement that some players have nowadays or the similar attitude of their agents. It often amazes me that a player will end up without a club rather than accept a deal on a lower salary. I think a number of these players are on money islands now, so even if we agree deals and even take cut price offers, after all 10 sh*t players at £5m a pop is still £50m in the bank, they have this sense of enititlement that they are worth £150k a week even though they can't get a game because they have consistently proven that they are not good enough.

July 21, 20223 yr Putting this under random rumours, but it does seem reasonably likely there is some truth behind it: Chelsea are struggling to get rid of £180MILLION-worth of flops from their squad | Daily Mail Online In previous years we would probably have sent most of these players out on loan but with the new limitations we may have to keep these players with the squad and send out younger players on loan instead.
July 21, 20223 yr Just have to put up with them being in the reserves and not used. Or offer them on free transfers to other clubs. Their wages plus a transfer fee makes selling them to the type of clubs who would want them next to impossible.
July 21, 20223 yr Pity they couldn't of naffed off with Bucky & Marina, after all they are their turkeys!

It's not the players themselves that no one wants its their wages. I'd make a list up put up a Fire Sale sign and pay up to 50 or 60% of their wages, after all something is better than nothing rather than hang on to players that aren't even going to get a sniff....or buy a team in some far off foreign land or even in the MLS and stick them all out there, win the foreign league and bring in some revenue..how many clubs have the Man City owners bought now?

Buck stayed on as a senior advisor and “consultant” to help with the transition. Barkley needs to go. Batsman needs to go. Kepa can stay, he is better than any other reserve keeper we would/could get. We have made some good money over the last few years selling players. its all part of the P&L and we have done alright. Yes, we did have Drinkwater. . . but then again we sold Academy players for 50 million. Don't think about the individuals, think of the overall balance. Edited July 22, 20223 yr by TheCeleryKing
July 22, 20223 yr 'Chelsea clearout delayed by lack of interest' Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel could be stuck with several unwanted players for the 2022/23 campaign as top-flight clubs are reluctant to strike a deal with the Premier League giants for their out-of-form stars, according to The Telegraph. The German manager is said to be looking to offload Michy Batshuayi, Kenedy, Malang Sarr, Ross Barkley, Timo Werner and Kepa during the summer transfer window but there has been little interest so far.
July 22, 20223 yr Benjamin Pavard (CB/RB) Available for sale or trade. Chelsea FC see Pavard as a direct replacement for Cesar Azpilicueta who may be allowed to leave for Barcelona. Other clubs interested in him include Manchester United. Atletico offer a similar option to Chelsea in the need for someone more versatile. Their preference was for Nordi Mukiele but he is moving elsewhere. A wildcard option biddding for the player might be Juventus. Pavard [26] who can play centre / rb / rwb makes huge sense for us. . .I wonder if they would want Brakley in exchange?

We cant cut contracts and bin them on a free as it would have a huge impact on ffp, it would demolish any spending we can do.
