We cant cut contracts and bin them on a free as it would have a huge impact on ffp, it would demolish any spending we can do.

Most of these players contracts run out in 2023 so TT is stuck with them unless as we normally do, send them out and keep paying a large % of their wages.

With Kounde (now hopefully) dead and buried, I think that we have to now ignore players in Spain, Italy, France etc. We need players that have plenty of Prem experience and can hit the ground running.

Just for discussion, here's a bit of a list, that we might be able to get before the end of the window,  what do you think?

Defenders

1. Wesley Fofana (Leicester), 2. Joachim Andersen (Palace) , 3. Jannik Vestergaard (Southampton), 4. Ezri Konsa, (Villa) 5. Fabian Schar (Newcastle)

Midfield

1. Declan Rice, 2. Jude Bellingham,3. Emile smith Rowe, 4. James Maddison, 5. Jacob Ramsey

Strikers

1. Ronaldo, 2. Ivan Toney, 3. Jamie Vardy, 4. Firmino, 5. Mbeumo

Well we know the likes of Rice and Bellingham aren't going anywhere and apart from an aging Ronaldo and part-timer Vardy; the rest are at these clubs because they simply aren't good enough for a top side.

Who would swap Callum Wilson plus St Maximin for Callum Hudson Odi?  .....I'm in.  Although he's had a few injuries and he might be 30 but Wilson is a proven PL forward who can score goals, especially against Arsenal 😊....just a thought....oops forgot TT needs about another 6 central defenders before thinking about playing attacking football.

Fofana I would definitely take, wouldn't want any of the others in that defenders list. Maybe Guehi coming back could happen but not sure.

I would definitely take Rice and Bellingham but don't think they will move this summer. I think we will (as well as other clubs) be in for Rice next summer when he only has a year left on his contract. I would take Maddison. Don't think there's much of a chance that Arsenal would sell us ESR.

Forwards - I have come round to the idea of Ronaldo but I don't think that will happen. I would take Vardy but it would be very short term thinking, and our style of play wouldn't suit him at all. I'm not convinced Toney and Mbuemo are good enough to play for a 'top' side.

TT has lobbied the PL to give its approval for Chelsea to use new goal posts and nets for all CFC games this season. If approved it's hoped that CFC's GA average will be reduced and provide time while it is still looking around the world for another 6 central defenders which TT believes is crucial to CFC's success this season...

Exactly. What's in it for them

It's gone quiet now and understandably so. Most of the available quality players have been signed and the rest are not near the end of their contracts. Now the players available are mostly squad players and backups. Unlikely we'll sign anyone big now.

Praying we don't go in for Aaron Ramsey now he's been bombed by Juve

It's going to be a sh*t season anyway, I'd rather we blooded a few younger players than spunk loads of money on players we'll just struggle to offload for the next 5 years.

Hasn't gone quiet, Lots of stuff in the media at least although it does seem no one has a clue what we're really up to!

Don't know where to post this but i find newsnow a decent place to at least find a centralised place where all the stories can be seen etc (although many unreliable sources it still holds out):

Based on a purely statistical analysis, having never heard of any of these players. We should choose between the following for our next CB target:

Konstantinos Mavropanos

Boubakar Kouyaté

Amos Pieper

Well, as a german and because Mavropanos and Pieper are playing in Bundesliga I know both players very well.
Mavropanos is OK but in my eyes he is not better than Ozan Kabak who played for Liverpool and Klopp decided that he is not good enough for the dippers.
And Pieper had a very weak season with Bielefeld and they were relegated in the end from Bundesliga. Now he joined Werder Bremen but he is simply not good enough.
I see him on the same level as Malang Sarr who is making me angry every time when he is on the pitch.

I dont know Kouyaté at all. Where is he playing ?

From Bundesliga I think the best available options are Gvardiol and Pavard. Both are good defenders.

Do you think there could be anything to Upamecano. Starting to see bits now but it might be fishing by the press

So he did not convince last season. It appears to me that Upamecano could not raise his level from Leipzig to a level what is expected and needed for an elite club like Bayern or Chelsea. So it would be a very risky decision to sign Upamecano. I would definetely prefer Pavard over Upamecano.
Pavard is not fitting in Nagelsmann's system anymore because Nagelsmann likes a similar system as Tuchel with 3 CBs and wingbacks but Pavard is more an oldfashioned fullback than a wingback. So he wants to play CB but Bayern has bought extremely expensive CBs like de Ligt, Hernandez and Upamecano.
And of course these expensive transfers will have priority over Pavard because the board members want to see their transfers in action.

So I would go for Pavard instead of Upamecano.

Although not a rumour, how the f**k do West ham Pursue a striker, and then instantly get him , minimum fuss, yet everyone is linked to our targets, 'Just piss off you horrible gits'

Just get us Phil Jones, proven English player 😁 , and call Barca before we make a bid.

In all seriousness, I refuse to believe there aren't realistically 2-3 defenders out there who are willing to join us and improve our defence. The issue was we were doing business at snail place, moving on from 1 failed target to another. If we wanted 2 defenders, surely we could have bid for multiple players at the time.
