One of these scenes was of a football fan celebrating and then turning to the camera and saying "dad should have been here to see this" and it had me in bits every single time as my dad died before we won the league (though he had seen it in 1955 before I was born). Even typing this, my eyes are filling up. I would have loved to have shared winning the league with him. Life can be cruel at times, i've had more than my fair share of family tragedies to know that. I'm sure your Dad got to see us lift the title in 04/05 where ever he may be. RIP to your dad.

Ossie got in a strop when we signed Tony Hateley as cover and put in a transfer request, thankfully it was turned down. I never watched a match from the old East Stand or the enclosure in front of it but I remember going beneath that mock-Tudor bit with my Dad & Uncle Bert to get autographs after a Wolves match in the early 70's, are those the ticket booths on the L/H side?

I was in that crowd too, having a go at Perry Groves the whole day long like the rest of us. I can remember the two guys above us in the boxes laying out Chelsea flags over the balconies to a fantastic reception. Not quite 1984 but pretty good nevertheless!

Pretty sure that mock Tudor bit used to house the players lounge. We used to lodge Chelsea trialists and juniors in our house and went in the players lounge a few times in the early 70s. Saw Charlie Cook doing keepie-upies in there once with a snooker ball. Amazing

That game and that Moscow Dynamo 1945 tour is legendary. My grandfather was at the Rangers v Moscow Dynamo game at Ibrox in November 1945.
November 13, 20169 yr My grandfather worked in shipyards on the Clyde back in 1945. The Rangers v Moscow Dynamo game was a 2pm kick off on I think a Wednesday. The day before he asked his manager for the day off as he 'was attending an important family gathering' ! His manager granted the day off, saying 'he would see him there. ' Adding that he too was attending my grandfathers' 'important family gathering '...

Vinnie almost certainly starting off a chorus of "One man went to mow" there. In fact he did it at QPR that season as well, just after Townsend tried to start a tongue-in-cheek version of "We're on the march with Jackie's Army." In reply, the Chelsea terrace followed that up with; "We're going to Sweden, We're going to Sweden, You're not, You're not...."
